Marlon Wayans Starring In ‘G.I. Joe’
Marlon Wayans has joined the cast of G.I. Joe for Paramount Pictures.
In the movie, Wayans will play Ripcord, the leader of the military unit. The cast already includes Sienna Miller, Ray Park and Rachel Nichols. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in negotiations to join the movie based on the American soldier action figure created by Hasbro. Stephen Sommers will direct from a screenplay most recently written by Stuart Beattie. Shooting starts next month in Los Angeles for a planned August 2009 release.
A European-based military unit known as Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity (G.I.J.O.E.), a hi-tech, international force of special operatives takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer.
Wayans appeared earlier this year in ‘Norbit’ with Eddie Murphy.

Golden Globes To Be Cancelled… Sort Of

It looks like the announcement of the winners will actually include stars, all dressed up, accepting their awards, but without speeches, montages and the rest of the hubbub. Still no red carpet, sadly. We’ll wait for the official announcement before doing a full report.
This just in: The news keeps changing all the time, but it’s looking now like the Golden Globes will take more of a form like a press conference, with the Hollywood Foreign Press announcing the winners, but with no stars in the room. They’ll instead be at their various parties watching the announcements, and we may or may not get to watch their reactions. Confused? Join the club. Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood has the full information, and this tentative schedule from NBC: Read the rest of this entry
New ‘Starship Troopers 3′ pics
One of the year’s most anticipated direct-to-video sequels (yes, there is such a thing - tell me you’re not excited to see the “Lost Boys” and “Dark Crystals” sequels) would no doubt have to be “Starship Troopers : Marauder” - the second sequel to Paul Verhoeven’s science fiction ‘classic’ of the late 90s.
We haven’t heard a lot about the film - Where Art Thou Ed? Where’s the juice? - but StarshipTroopers3.net presumably has (otherwise there site would fail to exist), but more so, they’ve got piccies from the film.

Strike Deal Can’t Save ‘Pinkville’
Despite an agreement between United Artists and the WGA coming into play that’ll allow the former to resume production/s again, Oliver Stone’s war pic “Pinkville” – which UA was shepherding – is still on hold - and by the sounds of it, it might stay on pause.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a well-placed source said that “Pinkville” would remain in turnaround despite any interim agreement UA inks with the WGA. That’s at least partly because cast who had been attached to the Stone project have since moved on to other productions.
“Pinkville” was to star Bruce Willis, Woody Harrelson and Channing Tatum. A WGA deal with UA would be notable because it would represent a first film company deal and allow UA to get cracking on new script development and execute any necessary rewrites on active projects.
First Pic From Anna Faris’s Playboy Bunny Flick
This spring Anna Faris will become the latest in a long line of Hollywood actresses to play someone who gets naked for a living, without getting naked herself. I know, disappointing. I’m all for actresses unwilling to run naked across the screen, I wouldn’t want to do it either (not that there’s exactly a bunch of people lined up to see it). I just don’t get why they insist on playing characters who would normally, well, be frequently nakie.
But in I Know What Boys Like Anna Faris stars a a Playboy Bunny tossed out of the mansion and forced to move in with a bunch of goody goody sorority girls. It’s from the writers of Legally Blonde, which probably means PG-13 and clothing not being optional. But let’s face it, the only reason anyone cares about the movie is because Anna is playing a girl who’s naked in magazines. Otherwise it’d just be Legally Blonde writers going back to the same, tired well. You like writing about tardo sorority girls. We get it. Read the rest of this entry
Arterton’s Octopussy to sting Craig’s Bond
Gemma Arterton (”St. Trinians”) will be snuggling up to – I’m guessing, but it wouldn’t be out of the question, right? - Daniel Craig in the 22nd Bond movie.
The Marc Forster-helmed film, loosely based on the Ian Fleming short story Risico, finds 007 (Daniel Craig) dispatched to infiltrate a drug ring flooding Britain with heroin, says Variety. “Casino Royale” scribe Paul Haggis penned the screenplay, furthering an earlier draft written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
French actor Mathieu Amalric joined the cast last week to play Bonds main adversary. It has been speculated Amalric’s character is the French-Algerian boyfriend mentioned by Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) in ”Casino Royale”.
Meantime, some set pics from the new film - featuring Craig and co-star Dame Judi Dench - are up at Just Jared and Pure People
