Brandon Routh dumped as Superman!?
The Daily Planet is reporting, er, I mean, Latino Review is reporting that Superman will look a little different when he next hits the big screen : Seems he won’t look so much like Brandon Routh.
Why? Routh has been dumped from the role. Booted from Metropolis like a Meteor freak.
The next stand-alone “Superman” movie – which was to be the Bryan Singer-directed “The Man of Steel”, only Singer’s no longer involved, so who knows what it’ll end up being, let alone titled – will feature a new Supes/Clark Kent.
Who?
The site says that whoever is cast as the new Superman in the forthcoming “Justice League” will play the same role in the solo film that’ll follow. Interestingly enough - or rather ‘how’s this for a kick in the balls’? - they’re after a youngster (someone in their early twenties) to play the JLA “Superman”, so the next Superman movie won’t be so much “SuperMAN” as it will be… “Superboy”.
Sucks to be Brandon Routh right now.

New Nightmare on Elm Street coming!
Is Freddy Krueger returning to the big screen? And if so, will Robert Englund be the guy in the Mask and ratty Christmas jumper?
The first part of the question has been answered at least (and if Englund doesn’t get the call to return to Freddy, I’ll be starting up one of those online petitions and hitting you all up to digitally sign it!).
According to Bloody Disgusting, New Line Cinema has abandoned plans for a “Freddy vs. Jason” sequel and will instead chalk up another solo adventure for the teen-slaughtering demon.
By all indications, it’d seem this new “Elm Street” isn’t a remake either – phew! – and will simply be another addition to the previous “Elm Street” films - the last one being the critically acclaimed but un-box office friendly “Wes Craven’s New Nightmare”. Read the rest of this entry
‘Iron Man’ and ‘Hulk’ team-up!
According to Aint it Cool News, Robert Downey Jnr will be making an appearance in “The Incredible Hulk”. It’s, of course, all part of a plan to tie the new “Hulk” and “Iron Man” movies together.
Downey Jr’s Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) will reportedly feature in a scene opposite “Hulk” villain ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross (William Hurt).
A few days back, “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau mentioned that he’d love a shot at directing an “Avengers” movie – Marvel’s answer to “Justice League” where all the superheroes, like Hulk, Captain America and Iron-Man, team up – and by all indications, Marvel’s thinking the same way too. Aside from Iron Man making an appearance in “Hulk”, Nick Fury (Samuel L.Jackson) turns up in “Iron Man”!
Slowly, but surely, these franchises are being linked…. For a reason.
New ‘Cloverfield’ image
In just two more weeks, the public will finally be able to witness the movie everybody has been talking about since viewing the untitled trailer during screenings of ‘Transformers’ back in July.
Here lies a new pic from the film - Mike Vogel and Michael Stahl-David feature- courtesy the lovely ‘Tamar’ at Paramount.
Sorry guys, no monster here! I’ve actually been avoiding most news about this movie because I want to be surprised. The last time I got hyped up to see a monster movie was back in 1998 when ‘Godzilla’ had came out, and I don’t want to feel that kind of disappointment again!
So guys, what are your thoughts? Will you be there January 18 to witness ‘Cloverfield’?
