Uma Thurman @ ‘The Accidental Husband’ Comedy Romance Coming Soon
Emma Lloyd (Uma Thurman) has made a career out of her sensible, mature and responsible approach to relationships. She has a hit radio talk show, an impending book deal, and a loving relationship with her fiance, Richard (Colin Firth), a conventional sort-which is precisely what Emma is drawn to.
Then Emma finds out that she is already married to a man she’s never met before, a result of a misguided prank that leaves her bewildered and very confused. Worse than that, her plans for the future are now threatened. With her wedding just around the corner, Emma must find the mystery man and obtain an annulment. Emma tracks down her “accidental husband”- Patrick (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a charming and handsome neighborhood fireman, with a big secret…that he was behind the “accidental” marriage.
Unable to fess up, Patrick goes along with the ruse pretending to be just as baffled as Emma. While at first their opposite approaches to life create much tension and chaos, Emma soon starts to admire his carefree passion for life and doubt her own conservative, button-down views on life and love. As Emma’s wedding draws near, she is faced with the choice between her safe life with Richard or the chance to live in the passionate and spontaneous world that Patrick inhabits.

‘Prom Night’ Movie Trailer
Confession time: I really enjoyed Red Eye. You know, that movie from 2005 with Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy on a plane? Not only did I enjoy it, I paid to see it in theaters. I’m not a horror fan by any stretch, but hey, a good chase scene is a good chase scene, and not only that, the movie was kind of funny. Go ahead, judge me all you want.
But even with Red Eye in mind, I was all prepared to rag all over the trailer for Prom Night, the latest movie to send a bunch of nubile teens to the slaughter at the hands of some crazed something or another. I guess I was grateful that it wasn’t some piece of technology responsible for the killings, but that wasn’t enough to make me stop shaking my head and mutter “Oh, the things this job forces me to think about for more than 10 seconds.”
Strange thing, though: Prom Night actually looks kind of fun. Meaning, it’s the kind of movie I could imagine myself going to see with a bunch of friends back in high school, the days when Jennifer Love Hewitt was making a career running away from a knife-wielding maniac. From what I can tell the movie involves no torture or elaborate torture devices, and is actually more of a cat-and-mouse chase between a bunch of promgoers and a psycho who is in love with one of them. Basically, it’s No Country for Old Men for teenage girls, except without the air gun and the whole “lament about the state of the world” thing.

‘I Am Legend 2′ Coming Soon?
I Am Legend has made Warner Brothers a ridiculous amount of money, and it’s still in theaters making it. So it should come as no surprise to anyone to learn that the WB has already started lining things up for a sequel. Shock Till You Drop reports that they’ve gotten Richard Matheson, the author of the original novel on which the film is based, to sign off on the rights to a sequel.
Of course that doesn’t mean it’ll happen, it may be something Warners is doing “just in case”. A case, which I hope never comes. I love I Am Legend, in fact it made it into my top 10 list for 2007, but it’s perfect as is. It’s a standalone movie, there’s no room in it for a follow up. Anything else they do with it would invariably be a thinly constructed cash-in. There’s really only two ways to make another one. Either do a prequel, which would destroy the original film by over-explaining things we didn’t need to know about, or do a sequel which follows characters we don’t know or care about. Neither option is particularly attractive. The last man on Earth should be left alone.
‘The Air I Breathe’ New Drama 2008
Because of the writer’s strike, this movie is hardly getting any promotion. It looks good to me.
Four stories, representing the emotional principles of Love, Pleasure, Sorrow and Happiness, come together in this episodic drama from first-time director Jieho Lee.
A powerful crime boss, Fingers (Andy Garcia), subtly controls the destinies of four people whose circumstances have brought them to a crossroads in their lives. A quiet business executive (Forest Whitaker) is told an upcoming horse race has been rigged and bets everything he has on his belief the story is true.
A noted pop singer (Sarah Michelle Gellar) discovers her career is hanging in the balance when she’s forced to sever ties with her manager. A doctor (Kevin Bacon) must set aside a physician’s traditional guidelines when circumstances demand he treat the woman he loves after a serious accident.
And a criminal (Brendan Fraser) has a powerful vision of the future, but can’t decide if his premonitions are to be trusted. The Air I Breathe received its world premiere at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.

Gemma Arterton is Bond 22 Girl
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed rumors that British actress Gemma Arterton has been cast as the new Bond Girl in Bond 22 (rumored to be titled 007). Gemma made her film debut in the 2007 St Trinian’s movie St Trinian’s.
Production began earlier in the week, nearly a month behind the original schedule. Bond 22 is still scheduled to hit theaters on November 7th 2008. Arterton just came off of Guy Ritche’s latest RocknRolla, which will also hit theaters later this year.
Top 10 Moneymakers in Movie World
Johnny Depp pillaged the most money for theaters in 2007, in a survey of movie exhibitors.
Depp, star of ’Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ and ’Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’, has nabbed the No.1 spot for the second year in a row.
The survey, conducted every year since 1932, asks movie exhibitors to vote for the 10 stars who generated the most box-office revenue for their theaters.
Will Smith, now starring in ’I Am Legend’ placed second on the list, followed by George Clooney, Matt Damon, Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, Nicolas Cage, Will Ferrell and Tom Hanks.
Meanwhile, this was the first time in 24 years that exhibitors haven’t included a woman in the top tier of moneymakers, despite the success of Katherine Heigl and Keira Knightley.
