OdeonThe UK’s largest cinema chain has refused to show Sylvester Stallone’s new Rambo movie.Odeon has confirmed that it will not show the latest instalment in the franchise in its venues across the UK.

It blamed the decision on “commercial reasons” but reports suggest that the film fell victim to Odeon’s feud with distributors Sony.

Insiders also put the “very, very rare” move down to a belief that the latest outing will not perform well at the box office.

A spokesman for the chain said: “Owing to commercial reasons, Odeon has made the decision not to screen the film Rambo across its cinemas in the UK”.

Transporter 3

It’s nice to have our own fully fledged action star. Even though Jason Statham hasn’t really climbed even close to those lofty heights occupied by your Arnie’s and Stallones’s, we reckon such status is in the post for the lad. Ok, it might be coming second class, but non the less!

He of lantern jaw and much reduced hair growth is set to roll out his popular ‘Transporter’ vehicle once again with news of a third film being announced recently.
Statham will reprise his multi-role driver/delivery persona Frank Martin in another blur of martial arts, fast cars, guns, bangs and female eye candy. The film will shoot for 16 weeks in both Russia and France. Read the rest of this entry

Posted by Allan Ford 26 February, 2008 (0) Comment

Sunday night’s Oscars featured many montages, one of which was great show moments as introduced by George Clooney. It included a moment of almost every host in the show’s history. But one host not included in the montage was 4-time host Whoopi Goldberg. On Monday’s “The View” the subject was discussed, and Whoopi’s disappointment was clear. The cohosts spoke of Whoopi’s many historical milestones with the ceremony - the first female host, the first Oscar winner to host, only the second African-American woman to ever win - as they talked about how displeased they were with the slight.
