Mike Judge and Jason Bateman making ‘Extract’

Mike Judge will direct the comedy Extract with Jason Bateman in the lead role.

The film, which Judge also wrote, will focus on a flower extract plant owner who sees his life and company change around him after a string of bad luck.

Extract is set up at Miramax.

Judge has previously directed the workplace comedy Office Space and the little-seen Idiocracy. He is also the creator of Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill.

Bateman recently appeared in Juno and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He will next be seen in Will Smith’s Hancock and in the Kevin MacDonald-helmed political drama State of Play.
