Kirsten Dunst In “Spider-Man 4″?

Posted by Fiona 30 September, 2008 (0) Comment

Kirsten Dunst has revealed that she intends to return to the role of Mary Jane Watson in “Spider-Man 4.”

Both director Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are “in” for the fourth and fifth installments in the “Spider-Man” franchise. So, Kirsten Dunst does, too.

“I’m in,” she confirmed. “I’m not saying anything, I know there’s rumours…”

The actress, whose new film “How To Lose Friends And Alienate People” is released on Friday, spoke to MTV about her future in the franchise.

It is no surprise that Sony would want Dunst to return, since all the major players are coming back. In fact, Sony has previously mentioned that they would do everything they can to make sure she is Mary Jane in the upcoming “Spider-Man 4″ and “Spider-Man 5.”

The script for the film was written by Jamie Vanderbilt, and so far the studio is being tight-lipped about the villain and who might play the character.

“Spider-Man 4″ is scheduled for an April 30, 2011 release.

Posted by Allan Ford 30 September, 2008 (0) Comment

Today, we have several images for the upcoming Ridley Scott (Gladiator) film “Body of Lies,” which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. The two actors are re-teaming after starring together in “The Quick and the Dead,” back in 1995.

Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best man U.S. Intelligence has on the ground, in places where human life is worth no more than the information it can get you. In operations that take him around the globe from Middle East to Washington, Ferris’ next breath often depends on the voice at the other end of a secure phone line – CIA veteran Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe). Waging war from a laptop in the suburbs, Hoffman is on the trail of an emerging terrorist leader who has orchestrated a campaign of bombings while eluding the most sophisticated intelligence network in the world. To lure the terrorists out in the open, Ferris will have to penetrate his murky world but the closer he gets to the target, the more he discovers that trust is both a dangerous commodity and the only one that will get him out alive.

A new trailer and poster for the Isla Fisher comedy “Confessions of a Shopaholic“, based on a Sophie Kinsella’s best-selling series of novels, has been released.

The film stars Isla as Rebecca Bloomwood, a girl who loves shopping but winds up in credit card debt and has to take a job writing for a fashion magazine to pay for it all. Zaniness, it is assumed, ensues as she interacts with high-society and finds true love and all that stuff that jazz.

Confessions of a Shopaholic is directed by P.J. Hogan, of My Best Friend’s Wedding and Peter Pan previously. The screenplay was written by Tim Firth (Calendar Girls, Kinky Boots) and Tracey Jackson (The Guru, The Other End of the Line). Continue Reading…

Madonna’s “Filth and Wisdom” Trailer

Posted by Fiona 30 September, 2008 (0) Comment

Madonna’s directorial debut “Filth and Wisdom” follows three oddball flatmates in London chasing dreams of fame and fulfillment while doing unsavory jobs to make ends meet.

Its main character, A.K., is played by Ukrainian Eugene Hutz, and the music from his real-life punk band Gogol Bordello is used extensively throughout.

Madonna told the basic point of the story was to explore the “duality” of life, between “light and dark,” “right and wrong,” and that the filth and wisdom of the title were not so very far apart.

Madonna planned to make more movies in the future, and she is unlikely to be too bothered by what the critics say.

“Filth and Wisdom” had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year.
The movie is scheduled to hit US theaters on October 17th, 2008 in limited release.

Eddie Marsan Joins “Sherlock Holmes” Cast

Posted by Fiona 30 September, 2008 (0) Comment

Eddie Marsan has been cast opposite Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes.” Rachel McAdams, Jude Law and Mark Strong are already among the Sherlock Holmes cast.

Marsan will portray Inspector Lestrade, a Scotland Yard detective and ally of Holmes.

Marsan, whose credits also include “Happy-Go-Lucky,” “Miami Vice,” “Mission: Impossible III” and “Hancock” said:

“I’m doing Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. I play Inspector Lestrade. Holmes describes him as a man with no imagination.”

Speaking about how the movie will differ from previous incarnations, he added:

“Holmes and Watson are a lot younger, bohemian. It works. Reading the script, Robert Downey Jr. is just perfect for a modern-day Holmes. Also he’s a bit of totty, as well!”

Max Payne promo picture

Seven promo pictures from the upcoming “Max Payne” have been released.

In the film, Mark Wahlberg plays Max Payne, a former NYPD Detective with internal and external conflicts in a dark, sinister New York City. Max Payne joins the DEA after his baby daughter and wife are slaughtered in their house by psychotic junkies, high on a new designer drug. Tracking the drug to the mafia, Payne is framed for the murder of his partner and becomes entwined in a heavy conspiracy. The series is known for its Matrix-like bullet-time, graphic violence and profanity. With all of that the movie is slated for a PG-13 rating, am I the only one in the world who wants this to be an R rated movie, after all it’s based on an M rated game.

John Moore, whose most recent projects include the war actioner “Behind Enemy Lines“, the horror remake “The Omen“, and the airborne adventure “Flight of the Phoenix“, is directing from a script by Beau Thorne. Continue Reading…
