Contrary to this reports trickling through the web today, representatives of Leonardo DiCaprio and DreamWorks Pictures confirm that the Revolutionary Road star is not set to star in DreamWorks’ “Button Man.”

“Button Man” is based on a “2000 AD” graphic novel of the same name by John Wagner and Arthur Ranson. The movie will reportedly be adapted from the first installment, subtitled “The Killing Game.”

Hers is the plot synopsis from “2000 AD”:

So Harry returned to England, and civvy street. Until a friend tells him about The Killing Game. Modern-day gladiatorial contests – man against man, usually to the death. A game of murder played for high stakes. The games are arranged by mysterious backers known as the ‘Voices’; disembodied voices on the other end of a telephone, telling you where to go to, who to meet. A player can either become very rich or very dead, very quickly. Harry decides to become a player. A Button Man. For a professional killer like Harry, the rewards are plentiful – but once the game begins, will he be able to walk away?”

Star Trek Sequel In The Works

Posted by Fiona 31 March, 2009 (0) Comment

Before JJ Abrams’ “Star Trek” premiere on May 8, 2009, Paramount studio, so confident in success of the movie, is already moving forward with a sequel.

Star Trek

Screenwriters Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and “Lost” producer and writer Damon Lindelof will pen the screenplay.

J.J. Abrams is onboard to produce the follow-up alongside Bryan Burk but no decision has been made yet on whether Abrams will return behind the camera for the sequel.

Story is still in the early stage but Orci, Kurtzman and Lindelof will wait to hear from the fans before deciding which way to go next. They are aiming to deliver their script by Christmas for what would likely be a summer 2011 release.

“There’s obviously a lot of hubris involved in signing on to write a sequel of a movie that hasn’t even come out yet. But we’re so excited about the first one that we wanted to proceed.”

“Obviously we discussed ideas, but we are waiting to see how audiences respond next month. With a franchise rebirth, the first movie has to be about origin. But with a second, you have the opportunity to explore incredibly exciting things. We’ll be ambitious about what we’ll do,”

said Damon Lindelof.
