Pacino - Despicable Me 2

The times they are a changin’ — The Scarface and The Godfather star, Al Pacino will voice the villain in forthcoming sequel to Despicable Me.

Javier Bardem dropped out of the sequel in January and Pacino who has played a bad guy mafioso, drug lord, doctor, cop, and even the devil himself, but had never lent his voice to a feature like this before, has signed on to replace Bardem. How really despicable things can get in Hollywood.

All jokes aside, business is business, it’s not personal — Pacino is likely voicing El Macho. Story this time goes something like, there’s still a wannabe super-villain named Gru and his family go up against El Macho and his son, Machito. Therefore, his character will be the archenemy of Gru.

The four actors such as Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove and Russell Brand will reprise their roles as Gru, Miss Hattie, Margo and Dr. Nefario, respectively. The Despicable me sequel will also bring back helmer duo Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin, as well as scribes Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul.

Despicable Me 2 is scheduled for the release.

Luckily for him, Pacino will next be seen in another mob film, Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father, which is a John Gotti biopic starring Ben Foster, John Travolta, Lindsay Lohan and Kelly Preston.
