Oh no, this is not a photo shoot of Paul Giamatti‘s stunt double, this is a photo of a super angry Giamatti himself as Aleksei Sytsevich, The Rhino.
Director Marc Webb has tweeted the image with the message ‘Hello, America. Meet Aleksei Sytsevich!’, which is the real name of The Rhino, Russian mafia thug who, unlike Electro (Jamie Foxx), isn’t very bright — in every sense of the word.
We’ll have to wait a little longer to see Giamatti in full villain attire, wearing a special suit modularly aligned and composed of a thick polymer mat similar in appearance to the skin of an actual rhino. The character debuted in the Spider-Man comics in 1966.
Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Shailene Woodley, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, and Sally Field also star.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2nd, 2014.
Check out a lot of frightening tattoos which seem too fuzzy to read.
What do you think of Giamatti’s look?
Here’s the official synopsis:
In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
