Amy Adams to Star in Paquet-Brenner Thriller DARK PLACES

Amy_Adams_Giambattista_Valli Amy Adams is gearing up for a thriller based on a mystery novel Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, listed on the New York Times Best Seller List for hardcover fiction. Gilles Paquet-Brenner, which French-language World War II drama Sarah’s Key was last year’s highest grossing foreign-language film is attached to direct his script. Adams who appears in On the Road, the upcoming big screen adaptation of the Jack Kerouac book will now tackle a different kind of adaptation as Gillian Flynn novel deals with class issues in rural America, intense poverty and the Satanic cult hysteria that swept the United States in the 1980s. Story focuses on Libby Day ‘a woman who, at the age of 7, survived the massacre of her family and testified against her brother as the murderer. Twenty-five years later, a group obsessed with solving notorious crimes confronts her with questions about the crime.’ Besides Walter Salles On the Road, Adams upcoming projects include Rob Lorenz’s film Trouble with a Curve, Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master, and Zach Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel; she is also set to produce and star in the film adaptation of Steve Martin’s novel Object of Beauty with Maven Pictures.
