Ronald Reagan Biopic

Ronald ReaganAnother interesting life, and another interesting biopic. So, why not a good movie then?

With some great team it’s definitely possible, so no wonder producers Mark Joseph (Ray), Ralph Winter (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), and Jonas McCord (Ask the Dust) have begun work on a biopic of Ronald Reagan!

The film will be called Reagan and it will center on the former actor and 40th president of the United States of America.

The material used will mostly come from two best-selling biographies by Paul Kengor: The Crusader and God and Ronald Reagan.

The film will track the entire life of Reagan rom childhood through the presidency.

At this moment we also know that the movie has a 30 million budget and will begin with the 1981 assassination attempt and tells Reagan’s story through flashbacks and flash-forwards.

William Monahan to Adapt Oblivion for Director Joseph Kosinski

The Departed screenwriter, William Monahan will be in charge for writing the script for the graphic novel turned feature from Radical Publishing.

Of course, we are talking about the Oblivion movie, which will be directed by Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski and you must admit that this already sounds like the great team.

Oblivion is “a futuristic science fiction love story that takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where most people live above the clouds, far from the “inhospitable place” that the surface of Earth has become.

An earthbound soldier who repairs drones that patrol and destroy a savage alien race discovers a beautiful woman who crashed in a craft. They take an epic adventure that changes his world view.”

Sandra Bullock in Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity?

So we all know that Angelina Jolie turned down Gravity. We also know that the lead role is currently offered to Natalie Portman.

But what we just found out is that the Oscar-winning actress, Sandra Bullock, is a strong possibility for the lead role in Alfonso Cuaron‘s sci-fi drama if Portman (the first choice of the Mexican director) turns down the offer she was given last week.

According to CinemaBlend “Bullock is waiting in the wings if Natalie Portman decides to pass. She’s who Warner Bros. really wants as the lead in “Gravity”, mostly just because she’s really famous and she’s been the lead in a few $100 million dollar movies.

Malin Akerman Joins Ethan Hawke for The Numbers Station

Lovely Swedish actress Malin Akerman has joined the cast of the CIA thriller The Numbers Station, which already has Ethan Hawke attached to star.

The film will be directed by Danish filmmaker Kasper Barfoed who you probably remember from title The Candidate and is also attached to Hammer’s Wake project.

Barfoed is directing from an F. Scott Frazier script, and the story centers on “a disgraced black ops agent tasked with a dead-end job of protecting a young woman in the middle of the Nevada desert.

When the two come under attack, they have to fight to stay alive.” No hard to guess that Hawke will play “disgraced black ops agent” while Akerman will play a young woman.

Noomi Rapace in Sherlock Holmes 2

Swedish actress, and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star, Noomi Rapace has signed on for her first English-language role, the female lead in the Sherlock Holmes sequel, where she will appear alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Rapace is definitely in a good company, and let us remind you that Warner Brothers previously announced a December 16, 2011 release date for the upcoming Guy Ritchie‘s sequel.

So, not much is known about the sequel yet, but according to some reports the plot will “involve Holmes and Watson squaring off against their arch-nemesis Moriarty.”

According to Hollywood Reporter, the movie will also mark the debut of Holmes’ brother Mycroft.

Still, neither of these highly coveted roles has been cast, though Brad Pitt has long been rumored to portray Moriarty.

Keanu Reeves in Generation Um

Keanu ReevesKeanu Reeves (lately known as World’s Saddest Superstar) is back!

And this time, he has signed on to star in Mark L. Mann’s indie-drama titled Generation Um.

Reeves is set to star alongside Bojana Novakovic (Edge of Darkness) and Adelaide Clemens (Mad Max: Fury Road) in the story that will follow:

“…a day in the life of Reeves’ character and his two cohorts as they live life on the fringe, immersed in sex, drugs and indecision.

As they navigate their daily routine of bars and crowds, they embark on a path of self-discovery.”

Mark L. Mann is directing Generation Um from his own script, and the movie will be shooting in New York.
