Jeffrey Dean Morgan in ‘All Good Things’ Opposite Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten DunstJeffrey Dean Morgan, one of the actors in the upcoming adventure fantasy film “Watchmen”, is said to be joining the star-studded cast of “All Good Things“.

He has been tapped to star opposite Kirsten Dunst, Ryan Gosling and Frank Langella in the drama thriller film.

For the film, the depicter of Denny Duquette, will portray a down-and-out detective who tries to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of Dunst’s character. He will be joining the cast when the film starts its principal photography sometime in April 2008 in Connecticut.

Jake Gyllenhaal in ‘Prince of Persia’?

Jake GyllenhaalFollowing the rebuttal to Orlando Bloom‘s rumors, a new speculation regarding who will be tackling the top role in the action adventure film “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time” surfaces.

According to Latino Review, Jake Gyllenhaal has been offered with the role of Dastan in the Walt Disney Pictures’ movie project.

Review claimed that they got the scoop about Gyllenhaal from multiple Hollywood sources.

Still, there are no words coming from either Disney or Gyllenhaal’s camp regarding the new rumor.

Disney to release 10 new animated movies, all Pixar movies in 3-D

Pixar - DisneyChief Creative Officer for Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, John Lasseter made the announcement in New York at a presentation of Disney’s upcoming lineup of animated movies.

The Walt Disney Studios previewed 10 animated movies that it will release during the next four years, including further installments in the “Toy Story” and “Cars” series and two new fairy tales.

With the exception of “Wall-E” and “The Princess and the Frog” the remaining eight movies will be made in digital 3-D.

Pixar movies will be released in 3-D and the traditional two-dimensional format beginnin with ”Up”.

The lineup from Walt Disney Animation Studios also includes ‘Rapunzel’, a retelling of a fair tale set Byfor release for Christmas 2010,

 and ‘King of the Elves’, based on a 1953 short story by Phillip K. Dickset for release for Christmas 2012.

Disney showed a 30-minute clip of Wall-E, the first Pixar release since last summer’s ‘Ratatouille’, which grossed more than $620 million at the worldwide box office.

”Ratatouille” was the last independent Pixar picture in development prior to Disney’s acquisition of Pixar Animation Studios in May 2006 for $7.5 billion in stock.

The first Disney digital 3-D movie for release is “Bolt,” the story of a dog of the same name who thinks he has superhero powers. John Travolta gives voice to Bolt while Miley Cyrus is voicing Bolt’s owner Penny in the movie, due to open on November 26.

De Niro Joins ‘Everybody’s Fine’

Robert De NiroRobert De Niro will star in ‘Everybody’s Fine‘, Kirk Jones’s drama for Miramax.

Remake of Guiseppe Tornatore’s ‘Stanno Tutti Bene’ follows an aging widower who takes a road trip to visit his adult children, played by Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, and Sam Rockwell.

Miramax Films acquired worldwide rights on the film that will begin shooting in Connecticut later this month.

The remake of the Giuseppe Tornatore film “Stanno tutti bene” was written by Kirk Jones.

Actors lined up to play Blair, Bush, Rice in Stone’s ‘W’

Josh BrolinThe Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd is tipped to be cast as Tony Blair in a forthcoming Oliver Stone biopic on the life of George Bush.

Thandie Newton, who was born in Zambia and raised in England, will play Condoleezza Rice in the Stone movie, W, which is due to start filming on 21 April.

Josh Brolin, who starred in No Country For Old Men will play Bush in the film, which ranges from his early relationship with his father, through the 1990-91 Gulf War to his own presidency.

Laura Bush will be played by Elizabeth Banks, star of The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

MGM and United Artists Move VALKYRIE to 2009

Valkyrie‘ first had a July release date, but was bumped to October because the studio claimed the summer was too well filled with competition and didn’t want ”Valkyrie’ to get lost in the shuffle.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and United Artists announced today they are moving the release date from October 3, 2008 to February 13, 2009 (President’s Day Weekend).

“MGM is proud and excited to be presenting ‘Valkyrie’, and because of that we want to give it the best launch possible,” said Clark Woods, President of Domestic Distribution of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, which is distributing the movie domestically.

Diane Keaton’s Next Comedy

Diane KeatonDiane Keaton will take to the road in ‘The Widows’ Adventure‘ based on the novel by Charles Dickinson.

This comedy drama follows two widowed sisters as they embark on a trip from Chicago to Los Angeles ‘confronting the problems of aging and death as they go’ (according to the publisher).

“The Widows’ Adventure,” a road trip dramedy with Gold Circle president Paul Brooks producing with Rosa Entertainment’s Sidney Sherman.

Gold Circle is out to directors and pointing for a summer or fall start. Gold Circle’s Scott Niemeyer and Norm Waitt exec produce and the shingle’s Brad Kessell, who brought the project in, will co-produce.

Keaton recently starred in Overture’s “Mad Money” and toplined Gold Circle’s “Because I Said So.”

MGM Buys Ludlum’s ‘The Matarese Circle’ for $3 million

Robert Ludlum - The Matarese CircleWith an eye on the success of the Bourne spy franchise, MGM has snapped up movie rights to another Robert Ludlum thriller.

In its first major material deal made since Mary Parent took over as head of MGM’s worldwide motion picture group, the studio ponied up for “The Matarese Circle,” a 1979 book by Robert Ludlum.

The book sold for $3 million, with another seven-figures to be paid to screenwriters Michael Brandt and Derek Haas according to Variety.

Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media will co-finance the film, and Denzel Washington is attached to star.

Like many books by the late Ludlum, “The Matarese Circle” is set during the Cold War. The book pairs rival spies, one from the CIA and the other from the KGB, who bury the hatchet for the moment because only they possess the smarts and killing abilities to go up against an international circle of criminals called the Matarese. Insiders said the Cold War tensions will be dropped and the storyline contemporized.
