The Dead2: India

Howard J. and Jonathan Ford, aka the Ford Brothers, the British director/writer/producer team behind the acclaimed African-set zombie shocker The Dead, are now in post-production on The Dead 2: India, the first zombie film shot in India. A new trailer for The Dead 2 recently premiered and it looks like the sequel is continuing the gritty action style begun in the original along with grisly zombie siege scenes, which is fine by me.

Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol-Banner Poster

British sitcom writer Drew Pearce is no stranger to superheroes as he co-wrote the script for Iron Man 3. Pearce has also rewritten Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming Mecha thriller, Pacific Rim and he is polishing the script for a reboot of Godzilla too. Now comes word that Paramount have hired Drew Pearce to come in and draft the fifth Mission: Impossible’s screenplay.

Nebraska-Cannes Clip

Oscar-winner Alexander Payne has a new black-comedy headed to Cannes this year, taking on the black-and-white tale Nebraska. Actually, it’s over a decade since he was there with About Schmidt. Payne’s follow up to the Oscar-winning The Descendants will be playing in competition at Cannes and is probably one of the most exciting moments in the festival.

Paramount Pictures is making the effort to begin a viral campaign with a public service announcement warning of the zombie epidemic known as Crisis Zero. The former director of the Global Health Agency speaks about the rather serious trouble that is rushing across the planet, sparking violence and horror wherever it goes.

X-Men Set Photo

Bryan Singer keeps delivering a behind the scenes look at the set of the prequel sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past. This time he has shared a more complex picture than it first appears. Singer tweeted first look at returning actor Nicholas Hoult as the 1970s Beast alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Metastasis

I do not watch much TV, but ‘Breaking Bad’ is decidedly different. A fantastic study of morality in a social context will air a Latin American ‘Breaking Bad’ adaptation after all. A few days ago, Sony, who owns AMC’s hit methamphetamine drama expressed its disappointment that the largest Spanish-language network Univision would announce the new show, which would be called ‘Metastasis,’ as part of its lineup for next year.

Sam Worthington

True Grit and Ender’s Game star Hailee Steinfeld has come aboard For the Dogs, where she’ll star alongside Aussie thesp Sam Worthington who signed on for the film in January. The indie action thriller will be directed by Phillip Noyce (Salt), based on an adaptation of Kevin Wignall’s novel by TV star Paul Leyden.

The Congress1

I’ve just shared the first trailer for James Franco’s As I Lay Dying, and Ari Folman’s intriguing sci-fi film The Congress has also debuted a trailer. Five years after his excellent animated doc Waltz With Bashir film, Israeli director is back on the Croisette with the follow-up in the vain of Charlie Kaufman films, but with animation that promises a head-spinning experience.

James Franco‘s adaptation of William Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying will premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival in just a few days and the first trailer for the film has arrived. Franco also stars alongside Logan Marshall-Green, Danny McBride, Tim Blake Nelson, Ahna O’Reilly, Beth Grant, Jesse Heiman and more.

Marvels-Agents of SHIELD

Here’s the first full-length trailer for ABC’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ that will take the phenomenally successful Marvel Studios universe to network television. Clark Gregg reprises his role from The Avengers as Agent Phil Coulson (even though he was killed off) who assembles a new team of Agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet.
