Several studios said the script is vintage Tarantino and they’re eager to be in business with him at a reasonable price. DiCaprio and Pitt would be appearing in a Tarantino-helmed project for the first time, though Pitt previously spoke Tarantino-scripted dialogue in a small but memorable stoner turn in the Tony Scott-directed “True Romance.” – VarietySet in World War 2, the story revolves around a group of soldiers on their way to be executed, only they get the chance for a reprieval. “Inglorious Bastards” has been in the works for over 5 years now, but during the Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino promised to return next year with his new film. ”The next movie I’m doing is my World War II movie. I just finished up the first draft and if all goes well, I will be here, in Cannes, in 2009 with “Inglorious Bastards”, Tarantino said. “The premise is the basic jumping off point from Enzo’s original – that you had a bunch of hardened criminals on a military transport during World War II – that got ambushed by the Nazis. Everyone but the criminals gets killed and the prisoners decide to make their way to neutral Switzerland – and must fight the Nazis and the Allies to get there”, Tarantino said about his new movie. “Inglorious Bastards” will shoot in Germany and also in France. The shooting begins in the autumn.
