Brian De Palma To Direct Paranormal Activity 2?

Brian De Palma, Paranormal Activity 2 ? You’re not going to need popcorn for this one. You’re going to need someone to hold your hand while you’re screaming because Paranormal Activity is back! If you saw the movie, you very well know what we’re talking about. If not, we advice you to take the first line as friendly warning. Since movie had such big success, nobody was surprised to hear that there will be a sequel. But now, the main discussion is – who will have the honor to direct it? This is definitely not going to be an easy thing, but someone will have to do it since Oren Peli is not returning to this project. The Los Angeles Times reports that three other directors are currently being considered by Paramount, and that Brian De Palma (Scarface, Dressed to Kill, The Untouchables, Mission: Impossible, Redacted, Carlito’s Way) is among them. The other two are Brad Anderson (Transsiberian, The Machinist, Session 9, Happy Accidents and 5 episodes of sf TV series Fringe) and Greg McLean (Rogue, Wolf Creek). One thing is for sure – the pressure is going to be enormous, because this movie started as low-budget project, with investment of $15,000. Yes, you read it correctly! Started with $15,000, and finished as one of the most profitable low budget movies of all time. Imagine what kind of investment Paranormal Activity 2 is going to be, since this famous names are involved. But, is the second part going to be as successful as the first one? Well, we’ll find out soon, because the movie is already announced for an October 22, 2010 release. We all agree that this is not the scariest film off all time. But it’s without a doubt the scariest film to be shown in the mainstream theaters in the last few years. That’s why we’re all looking forward to seeing new ghost moments of young couple.
