Cannes 2011: The Artist by Michel Hazanavicius
More Cannes updates! Only, this time, we’ll move to the competition category, and present the newest project from French director Michel Hazanavicius, titled The Artist, and totally old fashioned movie that will take us back to 1927!
But, don’t expect to hear a lot of details about this one – it’s actually the silent one.
Ok, bad joke, but really, the movie is a romantic comedy filmed in black-and-white. As we said, it will take us back to Hollywood, 1927, where the dialogue is on title cards and only music can be heard.

Ok, this is not a trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn’s upcoming Drive, but it definitely looks great!
I mean, it’s always great to watch somebody fooling around with police cars, and even better when it’s Ryan Gosling, right?

As you already know, Drive centers on a nameless Hollywood stuntman (played by Gosling) who does stunt driving for movies by day and drives for criminals at night.

Martha Marcy May Marlene is definitely something worth your full attention. Not just because this movie stars Elizabeth Olsen, but because this is one of the projects that premiered at Sundance Film Festival, and is, by the way, going to be a part of the upcoming Cannes Film Festival line-up in Un Certain Regard category.
Martha Marcy May Marlene stars Elizabeth Olsen as Martha, a damaged woman haunted by painful memories and increasing paranoia, who struggles to reassimilate with her family after fleeing a cult.

Here we are once again for the upcoming Pedro Almodovar‘s ‘creepy’ movie titled The Skin I Live In. Yeah, you remember this one for sure, and you already know that it is scheduled to premiere In Competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
