Kate Winslet – 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards

“Slumdog Millionaire” took four awards – Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score. “The Wrestler” was the second most lauded film, with two awards (Best Actor – Drama for Mickey Rourke and Best Song), and Kate Winslet was the most lauded person, winning Best Actress – Drama for “Revolutionary Road” and Best Supporting Actress for “The Reader.”

The poster will be distributed to the 1300 guests attending The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday evening, January 11 at The Beverly Hilton.

Los Angeles artist Colin McGreal completed the poster in association with Famous Frames. The vibrant artwork features the world’s most famous golden orb flanked by parallel rows of palm trees that give a sense of the iconic Los Angeles setting for the event recognized worldwide as “The Party of the Year.”

The posters, which are printed on the finest archival paper featuring the embossed award and lustrous, gold metallic ink. There will also be a limited edition of 200 posters signed by the artist. Each of the 200 limited edition posters will also be signed by a celebrity at the Golden Globe Awards and be part of the “Stars For A Cause” auction conducted by Bonhams & Butterfields in May, 2009.

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will take place Sunday, January 11, 2009 at The Beverly Hilton with a live telecast airing on NBC at 8 PM (EST).

“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” directed by David Fincher is adapted from the classic 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

The movie features Benjamin Button, played by Brad Pitt, as old man who physically ages backward – ages in reverse until he becomes a baby and then finally vanishes from the earth. At age 50, he falls in love with a 30-year-old woman, Daisy (Cate Blanchett). And then must come to terms with the relationship as they literally grow in opposite directions.

“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” also stars Tilda Swinton, Taraji P. Henson, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond.

The movie will hit theaters on December 25, 2008.

Adapted from Richard Yates‘ (1926-1992) first novel, “Revolutionary Road” is an incisive portrait of an American marriage seen through the eyes of Frank (three-time Academy Award nominee Leonardo DiCaprio) and April (five-time Academy Award nominee Kate Winslet) Wheeler. Yates’ story of 1950’s America poses a question that has been reverberating through modern relationships ever since: can two people break away from the ordinary without breaking apart?

Directed by Sam Mendes (Academy Award winner – “American Beauty“), from a screenplay by Justin Haythe, “Revolutionary Road” also stars Academy Award winner Kathy Bates, Kathryn Hahn, Michael Shannon and David Harbour.

The movie has four nominations for the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Best Motion Picture, Best Actor – Leonardo DiCaprio, Best Actress – Kate Winslet and Best Director – Sam Mendes. The winners will be announced on January 11, 2009.
