Dan Aykroyd on “Ghostbusters 3″
A third “Ghostbusters” flick has been talked about for years, and with the release of a new “Ghostbusters” video game, fans have put together their dream team of actors to take over the roles of Peter, Raymond, Egon and Winston in a possible new movie, which may or may not happen.
In a recent interview with EOnline, Dan Aykroyd was asked about the status of “Ghostbusters 3“. Aykroyd responded:
Well, y’know, two sharp young writers are purported to be writing the sequel, the third movie now. If I could interest Seth [Rogen] and Judd [Apatow] to be part of it, that would be an absolute dream.
Aaron Eckhart: Two-Face Won’t Be Back
While promoting “Towelhead,” Aaron Eckhart revealed the future plans for Two-Face in the new Christopher Nolan-directed “Batman Begins 3“. Harvey “Two Face” Dent has been officially buried six-feet-under and won’t be coming back for “The Dark Knight” sequel and Aaron Eckhart, put an end to any speculation regarding the possibility of his character’s return in “Batman 3″.
“He is dead as a door nail,” Eckhart confirms. “I asked Chris [Nolan] that question and he goes, ‘You’re dead’ before I could even get the question out of my mouth.” And if you think it’s all just a game he’s playing to keep it a surprise for his return, Eckhart really emphasizes that he ain’t coming back. “I think in contract negotiations it’s a problem,” he says. “No, I’m not coming back. I think unfortunately, Heath [Ledger] was supposed to go on and that didn’t work out. I’m nobody. I’m a cog. I have no say over this sort of stuff. I’m sure that there’s so many other characters that they could whip together.”
He also admitted that he had asked Christopher Nolan the same thing when making the film, and the response was the same: “I asked Chris if there was a chance of coming back. “No way,” he said. “He’s toast.” [source: ComingSoon]
Nicolas Cage Talks “Ghost Rider 2″
During an interview to promote this Friday’s action film “Bangkok Dangerous“, Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage confirms that there is going to be a “Ghost Rider 2” and that plans are already underway for it. As a matter of fact, they even have a chunk of the plot set out.
Cage said:
Yes, actually, had a nice meeting with the studio about 3-months ago, and we talked about going international with that character. Taking him into Europe, having him go on a motorcycle tour through Europe, and he’s connected with the church, if you can believe that. So it sort of has elements to it that are very much in the zeitgeist, with “The Da Vinci Code” and things like that.

Stephen Sommers To Direct Tarzan
The Jungle Book director Stephen Sommers is in negotiations to direct a big screen version of Tarzan for Warner Bros, reports Variety. Two years ago, the studio was negotiating with Guillermo del Toro to direct but his commitment to The Hobbit has put him out of the running.
Jerry Weintraub (Ocean’s Eleven) is producing through his Jerry Weintraub Prods.
Variety says that Sommers will also co-write the “Tarzan” script with Stuart Beattie. With the first two “Mummy” movies, “The Scorpion King” and “Van Helsing,” Sommers, who is repped by WMA, has become a connoisseur of the big-budget, effects-driven spectacle. He recently finished shooting the summer 2009 Paramount tentpole, “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra,” which Beattie came in to write for him. Read the rest of this entry

Guy Ritchie on “Holmes” and “Rocknrolla”
Guy Ritchie has denied reports that Russell Crowe will appear in his new Sherlock Holmes movie as Dr. Watson - alongside Robert Downey Jr. in the big screen outing for the famous fictional detective.

Speaking at the world premiere of his new movie “RocknRolla” on Monday in London Ritchie said:
“I don’t have a Watson. Somebody just told me that I have Russell Crowe lined up but that’s news to me. I suspect that hasn’t happened and I’m still looking for my Watson.”
Commenting on the movie’s production, he told:
“I’m very happy about it. We’ve got what I’d like to think are some of the best locations in London and with this film I get to show a whole new side to London. I’ve done contemporary and now I won’t be doing that, obviously.”
Ritchie’s new movie will be based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original novels (four novels and 56 short stories).
“It’s going to be an amalgamation of all those narratives,”
says Ritchie.
Ritchie’s “Rocknrolla” opens in UK theaters this Friday, September 5. It will open in US theaters on October 31st.
“It’s the kind of film I like. I’ve made a film for me. My inspiration came from the fact that London has changed so much in the last 10 years,” Guy said of the film he wrote and directed.
He even admitted he has already written the sequel:
“If people go and see this and like it I’ll make the second one straight away.”
Michael Jordan Biopic In The Works
Idris Elba (Stringer Bell from The Wire) is planning to shoot a biopic on basketball great Michael Jordan and recently spoke with IGN about it. During a press junket for “RocknRolla,” Elba told IGN that he is currently trying to make that happen.
“I am trying to make that happen,” he explained. “Michael is a very private guy, but we’re working at it slowly. The film that I’m trying to make isn’t about the actual basketball, it’s about the business. Michael Jordan is such a big international brand - how do you make that happen? How do you make that happen as a sports star? The brand has done so well for years.”
Elba will direct the film and may star in it as well.
