Chris Rock wants to be taken seriously. That’s exactly what his upcoming project is all about – a comedian turned film star determined to reinvent himself as a serious actor through a pretentiously historical film. And the good (I guess) thing is that the movie, titled Finally Famous, will be written by Rock, Rock is also on board to direct the whole thing, and – of course, Rock will also star in it!
So, at this moment, thanks to ShowBiz411 we know that Finally Famous will revolve around a comedian turned film star named Andre Allen, who, despite the expectations of his millions of fans, is determined to reinvent himself as a ‘serious’ actor.
The rest of the story goes like this:
Although his latest pretentiously historical film project is tanking, his upcoming television wedding to pretty, popular reality star, Erica Long, is the biggest media event of the year. In the midst of all the frenzy leading up to his televised nuptials, Andre agrees to be interviewed for the New Yorker by Chelsea Brown, a gorgeous but no-frills young woman with a sharp intelligence that matches his own. It’s a feisty, funny, no-holds-barred interaction that may well change the course of both their lives…
Let us also add that Scott Rudin is on board to produce the movie, (just for a record – they previously worked together on the Broadway production The Mother****er with the Hat) and filming is slated to begin in June.
We’ll keep an eye on it, make sure you stay tuned!
