Jeremy Renner with two guns and Gemma Arterton with… big boobs? Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D opens this January, and as you already see, today we’re here to share the latest poster for the whole thing. International, Brazilian…whatever, I actually think this looks pretty cool so make sure you check out the larger version!
In case you forgot, the movie comes from director Tommy Wirkola, and beside the above mentioned duo it also stars Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, Derek Mears and Thomas Mann.
Wirkola co-wrote the script with Dante Harper, and as we previously reported, the story will take place 15 years after the siblings’ incident at the gingerbread house.
Only now, Hansel & Gretel are specialized bounty hunters looking to put down the cackling black-hat set.
Catching up with Hansel and Gretel 15 years after the traumatic incident involving a gingerbread house, the siblings have evolved into vengeful bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches. Over the years, the siblings became expert hunters, famous for their proficiency at tracking and taking down their prey. Although still recovering from their ordeal, their work is relatively easy as for an unknown reason harmful spells and curses do not work well against them.
The Mayor of Augsburg recruits them to rid the town and nearby forests of an evil sorceress who is planning to sacrifice many local children at the witches’ gathering during the upcoming ‘Blood Moon’ night in two days time. To make things worse, the duo also has to deal with the brutal Sheriff Berringer who has taken power in Augsburg and conducts a very indiscriminate witch-hunt of his own.
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D opens in 2D/3D theaters and IMAX on January 25th, 2013.
