Eastwood Rumored To Replace Spielberg On AMERICAN SNIPER
Somehow we missed telling you Steven Spielberg bowed out of the American Sniper production after having been attached since May. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has reportedly in sight four time Oscar winner Clint Eastwood to take over the directing assignment.
Bradley Cooper is still attached to star in a feature adaptation of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle’s acclaimed memoir.
According to the industry news site, both Cooper and Eastwood have projects lined up in the form of Red Blooded American and Jersey Boys, and there’s no information available regarding when the studio is hoping to start production on the movie that chronicles a recently deceased service member who performed more sniper assassinations than any American.
If you missed it earlier, Kyle died at a shooting range near Chalk Mountain, Texas, last February, after being shot and killed by 25-year-old fellow veteran Marine Eddie Ray Routh.
The Silver Linings Playbook star, who is also committed to produce the movie, once said in an interview:
