Harrison Ford-Expendables 3

Or more precisely, Harrison Ford in, Bruce Willis out of the threequel, but it’s unclear if Ford will be playing Willis’ character from the previous two Expendables films.

Creator and star Sylvester Stallone has announced on Twitter that Ford has joined the cast, while ‘greedy and lazy’ Willis has left the third iteration.

Directed by Patrick Hughes (Red Hill), The Expendables sequel will reportedly feature a younger group of mercenaries who clash with an older group before coming together to save the day and generally blow things up.

The action-packed adventure opens August 15th, 2014 though the full Expendables 3 cast has yet to be announced. Jackie Chan, Nicolas Cage, Wesley Snipes, Steven Seagal, Kellan Lutz, and Milla Jovovich are reportedly being strongly considered for the leading roles along with Mel Gibson who would be playing the villain, but we have thus far received no confirmation.

Production on The Expendables 3 should begin later this year or early next year.

Expect more on this very soon.

Ford next appears in the upcoming business thriller Paranoia and the sci-fi film Ender’s Game.
