Sounds like more than 300 Godzilla crew members are doing great and getting lucky with the weather across Vancouver Island this March, from Nanaimo’s Old Victoria Road to Ladysmith and Shawnigan Lake.
A couple of days ago, director Gareth Edwards (Monsters) has uploaded a video greeting from the shot as well as a new batch of set photos that show off some of the movie’s other locations.
Now, a first look photos featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) in military uniform have appeared, along with video from the two-week shoot in a small Canadian town that shows soldiers transporting missiles and taking cover.
The 22-year-old Aaron plays a military soldier who tries to protect a city from a giant radioactive monster called Godzilla that awakes from eons of sleep and attacks a city.
The cast is phenomenal, also including Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston, Richard T. Jones and David Strathairn.
Edwards directs the Godzilla remake, whose working title is Nautilus, with a script from Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham.
Edward’s sci-fi reboot opens in 3D on May 16th, 2014.
Here’s a bit of behind-the-scenes video along with the new set images from Godzilla below. Also check out the first video from the set just in case you missed it.
