Pirates 4, Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp, star of the upcoming Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, recently appeared at a press event this weekend for Alice in Wonderland and talked briefly about Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides, which will start shooting this summer in Hawaii.

Here is what Depp had to say:

Johnny, we heard that there’s not going to be any Keira Knightley or Orlando Bloom in the next Pirates. Is it going to be more Jack Sparrow front and center?

Depp: Yeah, there’s no Keira or Orlando in there. I don’t know. I don’t think we’d ever throw too much Jack Sparrow in there. It’ll be everybody.

You were sort of wavering a little after Dick Cook left. Have you regained your confidence about it or what reassured you?

Depp: One thing that I found very reassuring was a very good conversation with Dick Cook who is someone I admire greatly. That helped a lot. Also, knowing that we’re coming at it from a different angle at this point. [Director] Rob Marshall and a totally new take and a new story.

This movie sounds even btter, every time a new update gets released for it!. The fact that it’ll be with Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush and Penelope Cruz and someone to play Blackbeard, sounds to me like a really entertaining Pirates of the Caribbean movie and Pirates movie in general too!. Can Wait to see it! =).

  2. YA THINK? —Should Johnny Depp play Harrison Court-006 in Kensington Roth”s Explosive Bond-like Spy-Thriller “ABLE DANGER?”

I am excited to see Johnny as Jack again, but I am not very confident in the director nor the fact that this movie is lightly based on the novel “On Stranger Tides”. We need to see more of Jack, more of Barbossa, definitely have all of Jack’s crew back, plus more ships at seas battling;pirates swashbuckling, and less scenes on land. No love stories either, that distracts from the Jack and Pirate theme.

Since Dick Cook resigned, it seems that many things are uncertain with the movie. I pray that Johnny will not sell out nor compromise his Jack role.
