Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Doctor Stephen Strange movie is the rumored front runner of Marvel’s Phase 3 undisclosed films to be announced at Comic-Con for a 2016 release date.

The latest rumor said Joseph Gordon-Levitt is who Marvel Studios wants for the lead role of Earth’s protector from supernatural threats, Doctor Strange.

While not confirmed by Marvel in any way, the current draft of the script reportedly has Strange in his early 30s, which is perfect for the 32-year-old Levitt.

Besides, the actor was previously considered for the Star-Lord role for their upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy when he opted to do Sin City: A Dame to Kill For instead.

However, there’s no guarantee he’ll accept the terms of a potential franchise contract, particularly as his own directing career is taking flight.

Levitt’s Don Jon opens in theaters September 27th, 2013.
