Jude Law in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes

Jude Law is in talks to join Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Watson in “Sherlock Holmes” the drama that Guy Ritchie will direct.

Law is expected to finalise a deal to portray the famous Baker Street detective’s sidekick Dr. John H. Watson.

Ritchie’s film will take inspiration from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s classic novels and Lionel Wigram’s comic book series.

Guy Ritchie is eyeing his “RocknRolla” star Mark Strong for the role of the antagonist Blackwood.

Production begins early next month in London and Sherlock Holmes is scheduled for release in 2010.
