Lovelace Cast Bulks up Four

Firstly, Hank Azaria (Love and Other Drugs) is set to play Jerry Damiano, director of the infamous 1972 porn film Deep Throat, while Bobby Cannavale (Win Win) and Chris Noth (The Good Wife) will play the movie’s financial backers Butchie Peraino and Anthony Romano. Robert Patrick (Jayne Mansfield’s Car) joins as Linda’s father.

Secondly, James Franco is in talks to cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner after he was eyed to play the male lead of Chuck Traynor in Lovelace biopic of Linda Boreman’s life, which began production today in Los Angeles.

Helmed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman who previously co-directed Howl, the film has an original screenplay by Andy Bellin and has Amanda Seyfried set to star as the titular porn star, with Peter Sarsgaard as Lovelace’s noty husband.

Sharon Stone was confirmed as the eventual anti-porn campaigner’s mother. Juno Temple and Wes Bently also co-star in a hell of an indie.

Franco will soon wrap the title role in Sam Raimi’s Oz: The Great and Powerful.

Finally, the Lovelace film is being made with the cooperation of the estate of Linda Lovelace.
