Mel Gibson To Star In Cold Warrior

Variety reports that Mel Gibson is in talks to star in spy thriller Cold Warrior which will be directed by Lethal Weapon screenwriter Shane Black from a script by Chuck Mondry.

The film is about a spy from the Cold War era who comes out of retirement to team with a younger agent from the new school to confront a domestic terrorism threat orchestrated by Russia.

Cold Warrior will be produced by Michelle Manning, David Greenblatt and Anthony Bagarozzi.

This would mark Gibson’s return to working under a Universal Pictures studio banner. Gibson starts shooting the independent action drama “How I Spent My Summer Vacation,” based on a screenplay he wrote, in March and will likely segue to Cold Warrior in June.
