New Photo of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd
Bleeding Cool has posted this new photo of Karl Urban in the upcoming remake of “Judge Dredd,” called “Dredd“, the Pete Travis-directed adaptation also starring Olivia Thirlby and Lena Headey.

Produced by Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle‘s (Slumdog Millionaire) DNA Films and adapted by frequent Boyle collaborator Alex Garland (28 Days Later,Sunshine), Dredd will follow of Dredd as he trains his telepathic rookie partner, Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby). Lena Headey (300) plays Ma-Ma, a villainous drug dealer. Travis (Vantage Point) directed the movie, which Urban has described as a “very gritty, hardcore, faithful adaptation”.
Dredd Synopsis
‘Dredd’ takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary.
“Dredd” is scheduled for release in the United Kingdom on December 1st later this year. There is no release date for the United States at this time.
