Michael Moore

No matter if you refer to Michael Moore‘s films as a ‘fiction/documentary dichotomy’ or going so far say his subjects ‘are being presented in a false light’ or you support his projects or just look forward to watching the documentary even if you don’t like Moore, the truth is, in 2005 Time magazine named Moore one of the world’s 100 most influential people. At least, he is one of the most controversial American filmmakers today and Capitalism: A Love Story without question destined to be his most controversial film yet.

Moore’s latest film follows the powerful forces behind the terrible predicament in which numerous Americans are finding themselves losing their jobs, homes and savings to pay the bill. At the end of the 2009s documentary he says he was not going to make another film until someone else — a group, a movement, an individual, anyone — stepped up with their own dissonant voice.

That just happened with the emergence of the Occupy Wall St. as first populist movement on the left since the 1930s. Moore said to TheWrap’s Steve Pond that:

this has happened in ways that I never would have imagined. I would have been happy for just a small response, but this has just exploded.

Moore was reminded of his promise to make another film:

Yes, I am [planning another film]. But I’m not making a film about this… I’m not going to tell you what I’m going to do film-wise, but it will be something that’s not being addressed. It will be funny and shocking and hopefully will help move the ball down the field. And as long as I am one among many … That is why I love going down to Occupy Wall Street. Because I stand there with hundreds as part of this general assembly, and I am one voice. It feels so much better to me to have hundreds of other people sharing in that and saying, ‘We’re all going to put the yoke on our shoulders and carry this forward.’ That feels better than standing alone on the Oscar stage being booed off it.

Despite those statements are rather vague it will be another issues movie, that’s for sure. And as Moore says he’s definitely breaking his moviemaking fast I hope this means it will be better formed.
