The dead don’t talk. I don’t know why. But I’m sure that Anton Yelchin knows the answer to that question, ’cause, in case you forgot, he stars as a young man able to see and partially communicate with the dead in the upcoming thriller Odd Thomas. Unfortunately, still nothing about the official release date, but at least we have some pretty cool images to share today, hope you’ll enjoy…
Written and directed by Stephen Sommers, and based on Dean Koontz‘ bestseller of the same name, Odd Thomas stars Yelchin as an ordinary man with an extraordinary gift.
In other words – he can speak to the ghosts but they can’t speak to him. His gift is a secret from everyone except his girlfriend and the Chief of Police, who never questions Odd’s tips, advice, or presence at a murder scene.
He sees “bodachs” as well, small, evil creatures, fluid in shape, that feed upon horrific acts of carnage and is horrified to see hordes of them gathering in his town. He spots a weird looking stranger in whom the bodachs appear very interested, nicknames him Fungus Man, and rightly assumes that he is involved in the impending disaster. Breaking into the man’s house, Odd finds a mysterious black room and a page from a calendar that tells him the date of the planned event. Now it’s a race against time to foil the plot…
Beside Yelchin, the rest of Odd Thomas cast includes Addison Timlin, Willem Dafoe, Patton Oswalt, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Nico Tortorella and Curtis Jackson.
