Noomi Rapace in Sherlock Holmes 2
Swedish actress, and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star, Noomi Rapace has signed on for her first English-language role, the female lead in the Sherlock Holmes sequel, where she will appear alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
Rapace is definitely in a good company, and let us remind you that Warner Brothers previously announced a December 16, 2011 release date for the upcoming Guy Ritchie‘s sequel.
So, not much is known about the sequel yet, but according to some reports the plot will “involve Holmes and Watson squaring off against their arch-nemesis Moriarty.”
According to Hollywood Reporter, the movie will also mark the debut of Holmes’ brother Mycroft.
Still, neither of these highly coveted roles has been cast, though Brad Pitt has long been rumored to portray Moriarty.

First Legend of the Guardians Clip
Here’s the first clip for Zack Snyder’s animated film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.
Legend of the Guardians is based on the first three books of Kathryn Lasky’s series, Guardians of Ga’Hoole. It follows Soren, a young owl enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole, a band of warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones. When Soren and his owlet siblings fall out of their treetop nest, it’s up to him to make a daring escape with the other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians of Ga’Hoole, who are Soren’s only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms.
Keanu Reeves in Generation Um
Keanu Reeves (lately known as World’s Saddest Superstar) is back!
And this time, he has signed on to star in Mark L. Mann’s indie-drama titled Generation Um.
Reeves is set to star alongside Bojana Novakovic (Edge of Darkness) and Adelaide Clemens (Mad Max: Fury Road) in the story that will follow:
“…a day in the life of Reeves’ character and his two cohorts as they live life on the fringe, immersed in sex, drugs and indecision.
As they navigate their daily routine of bars and crowds, they embark on a path of self-discovery.”
Mark L. Mann is directing Generation Um from his own script, and the movie will be shooting in New York.
Colin Farrell Out Of By Virtue Fall
By Virtue Fall update! If you’re a Colin Farrell fan, then maybe you should skip this one, because, the latest news from Hollywood confirm that the Irish actor is out of the upcoming Sheldon Turner‘s project.
Now, Farrell could be replaced by The Hurt Locker star, and quite busy actor these days, Jeremy Renner.
We previously reported that the movie will follow “a professional and personal relationship between two characters that evolves from friendship to betrayal and retribution.”
But, we have some new details about the plot as well:
“The story centers around two federal agents. The first is Matthew Vanetti. He’s the Golden Boy, the one with the bright future, the one who does everything by the book. Matt’s partner and good friend is Danny Sloan.
John Woo to Direct Le Samourai and The Killer Remake
Director John Woo is quite busy and very ambitious when it comes to his plans for the future projects.
He announced that his next, and in the same time his first IMAX film, will be a $90 million WWII film called Flying Tigers, and today we’re here to report that the director revealed he’s still working on two English language remakes, both of which will be based off of films currently in the Criterion Collection.
The first one will be the remake on Jean-Pierre Melville’s film, Le Samourai and the second one, his own movie The Killer.
No surprise when it comes to Melville’s classic, cool gangster film which Woo praised “as one of his greatest influences”. Woo’s interest in Le Samourai now is “to make it into a modern film.”
The Killer, on the other hand is a little surprise. We all know the story of “an assassin who is forced to join forces with a policeman after being betrayed by his employers”, so what’s actually a point in remaking the familiar one?
Jessica McNamee Joins Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum in The Vow
Australian actress Jessica McNamee (that we all remember from the horror movie The Loved Ones) has joined the cast of the romantic drama The Vow.
Movie already stars Rachel McAdams as Paige and Channing Tatum as Leo.
McNamee will play McAdams’ estranged younger sister.
Michael Sucsy will direct the picture, and rewrite the script which will follow:
“…a newlywed New Mexico couple (McAdams and Channing Tatum) who end up in a car crash.
