Rise of the Planet of the Apes

With less than a month to go before director Rupert Wyatt‘s new movie, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, opens in theaters, 20th Century Fox has released a new UK poster.

The poster is a concrete and effective. I like it. The most effective movie posters are iconic, presenting the themes in the movie without resorting to flat out saying what it’s about.

The movie stars James Franco as Will Rodman, a scientist who tests his cure for Alzheimer’s disease on a chimpanzee named Caesar (Andy Serkis) and inadvertently gives rise to the first of an army of super-intelligent apes. Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, and David Oyelowo also star.

Set in present-day San Francisco, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” reveals the origins of a war that ultimately led to a global apocalypse – and to Earth becoming the Planet of the Apes. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is taking on its most ambitious challenge, creating for the first time a non-human CGI character that delivers a dramatic performance with real emotion and intelligence.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes opens .

What do you think about the new poster? Looking forward to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”?

Very nice, I know why this is only in the U.K., in U.S. people are so backwards they would be up in arms over the Evolution “debate”, English people are over religious idiocy and hypocrisy.
