The first trailer and poster for the upcoming romantic indie comedy Ruby Sparks, the follow-up feature for Little Miss Sunshine directors Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton, has been released.
The script is written by the actress Zoe Kazan, who also stars as the title character.
Along with Kazan the film also stars Paul Dano, Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Steve Coogan, Elliott Gould, Chris Messina, and Deborah Ann Woll.
Here’s the official synopsis for the film:
Calvin (Paul Dano) is a young novelist who achieved phenomenal success early in his career but is now struggling with his writing – as well as his romantic life. Finally, he makes a breakthrough and creates a character named Ruby who inspires him. When Calvin finds Ruby (Zoe Kazan), in the flesh, sitting on his couch about a week later, he is completely flabbergasted that his words have turned into a living, breathing person.
Ruby Sparks is scheduled to light up theaters July 25th, 2012.
