James Cameron Creates Cameron – Pace Group (CPG)
Ready to hear what James Cameron is doing these days? No? Well, sorry about that, but this is an official thing, so check it out! He has teamed up with acclaimed cinematographer Vince Pace to form Cameron – Pace Group (CPG).
Just in case you’re wondering what’s so interesting about that, here’s a little “insight” – this group will seek to accelerate worldwide growth of 3D across all entertainment platforms including features, episodic and live television, sports, advertising and consumer products, pioneering a new generation of camera systems, services and a variety of creative tools that are innovative, powerful and easier to embrace.
CPG will build upon the strong foundation of Pace and the 3D technology to which its co-founders have individually and collectively contributed, such as the revolutionary Fusion 3D system. In combination, Cameron’s and Pace’s technologies, products and services have been responsible for $4.7 billion of box office receipts and have played an extensive role in 25 features, seven concert and music entertainment projects and 40 sports productions worldwide, including Avatar, Tron: Legacy, Resident Evil: Afterlife and U2 3D.
First Two Minutes of ‘Rio’
The first two minutes from 20th Century Fox’s new 3-D CG-animated feature Rio, has premiered online.
Synopsis: Set in the magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro and the lush rainforest of Brazil, the comedy-adventure centers on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there’s another — and that she’s a she — he leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio. But it’s far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight-challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about friendship, love, courage, and being open to life’s many wonders. ‘Rio’ brings together a menagerie of vivid characters, a heart-warming story, colorful backdrops, energizing Latin and contemporary music, and family-friendly song and dance.
James Cameron to Develop 3D Movie Inspired by Cirque du Soleil
James Cameron has a new project!
The latest news goes like this: Avatar director has just signed up to make a new 3D movie inspired by Cirque du Soleil. Anyone surprised?
Well, we guess not…
Here’s an official announcement with full details:
“Cirque du Soleil, James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar), and Andrew Adamson (Shrek, Chronicles of Narnia), in association with Reel FX Entertainment, announce today a partnership designed to develop and produce immersive theatrical 3D projects inspired by the unique creative universe of Cirque du Soleil.

Disney-Pixar already debuted the first official promotional still and poster for Cars 2.
And today the first teaser trailer has been released.

Kung Fu Panda 2 Synopsis Revealed
DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda sequel is coming and we finally have some new information about this project.
The full synopsis for Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom has been revealed.

Kristin Davis Joins Journey 2: The Mysterious Island
We already know that Dwayne Johnson, Vanessa Hudgens and legendary Michael Caine will star in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
Today we’re here to announce that Kristin Davis will also star in the upcoming sequel to Journey To The Centre Of The Earth.
Movie will be directed by Brad Peyton and already has Josh Hutcherson reprising his role from the first film (explorer Sean Anderson).
Angelina Jolie as 3D Cleopatra, James Cameron’s New Movie?
When you have this kind of report with James Cameron in it, then you know that something big is about to be filmed.
And, that it will be in 3D, of course. So, there you go – Oscar-winner James Cameron is in talks to direct Angelina Jolie in a new 3D film based on the life of Egyptian queen Cleopatra!
The film will be based on Stacy Schiff‘s book, Cleopatra: A Life, which follows the life of Cleopatra, including her romance with Julius Caesar, her affair with Mark Antony and her death.
Nothing new about that, but still, let’s give a chance to producer Scott Rudin and Mr. Cameron of course.
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man
It’s official now! Emma Stone has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming Spider-Man.
And yes, we already had a little chat about Marc Webb’s new flick, but we had a little rumor back then that Stone would be playing Mary Jane Watson.
So, finally some official announcement about the movie we’re all waiting for.

“It’s been an incredible journey for us to watch Emma’s star rise as an actress. She is extraordinarily talented and has a very special on-screen spark that is perfect for this role.
Given her history with the studio, casting her in one of our most important franchises is a real thrill.”
That actually means Stone has been tapped for the role of Gwen Stacy opposite Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.
On the other hand, director Webb added that:
“The chemistry between Andrew and Emma was stunning and made Emma the clear choice. At the heart of the story of Peter Parker is not only the amazing Spider-Man, but also an ordinary teenager who is wondering what he has to do to get the girl.
