Vera Farmiga Joins Aaron Eckhart in THE DRUMMER
Vera Farmiga will join Aaron Eckhart who signed on to play Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson in Randy Miller‘s indie music biopic The Drummer last October. Oscar nominee for 2009s Up in the Air, Farmiga will play notable Fleetwood Mac keyboardist and singer-songwriter, Christine McVie.
Her role in the film will be informed by the hotblooded relationship that Wilson and with McVie following her divorce from husband John McVie. The Drummer tracks six years in Wilson’s life during which he and McVie consumed a tumultuous affair before Wilson’s death in 1983 – paradoxically, he drowned in 1983, a few years after he finished and released Pacific Ocean Blue.
Yvonne Strahovski in Final Talks to Play Scientist in I, FRANKENSTEIN
Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski is in final talks to join the Stuart Beattie’s action monster movie I, Frankenstein.
A Darkstorm Studios graphic novel created by Kevin Grevioux (probably most known for his role as Raze in the Underworld) tells a modern-day tale where the classic literary monster, nearly centuries after his ‘birth,’ has found himself in a gothic city.
Aaron Eckhart Signed on to Play Beach Boys Drummer
C’mon guys, let’s have some sunny surf rock with Aaron Eckhart who has landed the leading role in a new biopic about tragic Beach Boys star Dennis Wilson.
The Rum Diary actor will take drumming lessons to perfect his transformation as Wilson in Randall Miller‘s new film The Drummer, which follows the last six years of the rocker’s life.

Check out two new clips from Johnny Depp’s new movie The Rum Diary! The film is based on a novel of the same name by Hunter S. Thompson, which fictionalized the late writer’s early days as a journalist living in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and drinking copious amounts of rum while working for an English-language newspaper. Thompson wrote the novel in the early 1960s but it was not published until 1998.
Aaron Eckhart to Star in Lionsgate’s I, FRANKENSTEIN
I, Frankenstein is a contemporary fantasy thriller which tells the story of the original monster of Victor Frankenstein is humanities only hope, standing in between the human race, and the supernatural dark creatures that have risen to overthrow the world.
We learned that Stuart Beattie had been hired to direct Hopscotch Features and Lionsgate’s adaptation of the Darkstorm Studios comic I, Frankenstein. Now, The Dark Knight star Aaron Eckhart has been tapped to take the lead role of Adam Frankenstein. Beattie (Tomorrow) also penned the script based on a graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux, co-creator of the “Underworld” franchise.
43 New THE RUM DIARY Photos and Poster
Another poster and 43 new photos have been released to promote Johnny Depp‘s upcoming movie, Rum Diary, which hits theaters nationwide on October 28.
Depp is Paul Kemp in The Rum Diary, a journalist who heads to Puerto Rico for a position at a daily newspaper. In typical Hunter S. Thompson fashion, whose book the film is based on, Kemp winds up spending time with an interesting cast of characters with trouble sure to ensue.

Begun in 1959 by a then-twenty-two-year-old Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary is a brilliantly tangled love story of jealousy, treachery and violent alcoholic lust in the Caribbean boomtown that was San Juan, Puerto Rico, in the late 1950s.

After the trailer premiered recently, FilmDistrict has released the first poster for the next Johnny Depp film The Rum Diary.
Depp stars as journalist Paul Kemp who moves to San Juan, Puerto Rico to work for the major newspaper The Daily News in the late 1950s. He gets swept into a tangled mess of love, jealousy, treachery and alcoholism that is reminiscent of Thompson’s other work. And apparently somewhere along the line he drank 161 nips of rum.
