New DREDD Images Online!
Courtesy of 2000AD, there arrive four new stills from Dredd, featuring Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby as Judge Dredd and Judge Anderson respectively.
Pete Travis (Vantage Point) directs from a script by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine, Never Let Me Go). The film also stars Lena Headey (300, Sarah Connor Chronicles), Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter), Jason Cope, Warrick Grier, Langley Kirkwood and Kevon Kane.

The new adaptation of the British comic book series 2000 A.D. most noted Judge Dredd stories, which name is invoked over similar issues to those explored by the comic series, such as the police state, authoritarianism and the rule of law.
DREDD Director Fired During Post-Production
Dredd, the remake of the 1995 Sylvester Stallone vehicle Judge Dredd is currently in the phase of post-production and Pete Travis, who completed shooting the film earlier this year is asked to step aside as a director and pass the reigns on to the writer-producer on the film, the screenwriter Alex Garland.
Gosling and Refn Going Into The Future With Logan’s Run Remake
The Blue Valentine star Ryan Gosling may well join to Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn for a new version of the 1976 futuristic drama Logan’s Run, about a man in the world of 2116 who tries to run faster than a mandatory death sentence, reported Deadline.com
Filming for remake has been ongoing for over a decade. Warner Bros began development in the mid-90s. Bryan Singer was brought in 2004, but dropped out due to scheduling disagreements in 2006. Tron Legacy‘s Joseph Kosinski was hired as the new director in 2007 before moving on, and Carl Erik Rinsch got the job in 2010 but canceled it for the same reason Singer did. Danish filmmaker Refn, most known for Bronson and Valhalla Rising, is reportedly lined up to take the helming duty and thus he will soon reunite with his “Drive” actor Gosling.

Lovely actress has just landed the role of Madeline Madrigal, Ma-Ma, or the leader of a gang who runs one of the blocks in Mega-City One, in the upcoming Pete Travis‘ version of Judge Dredd!
Based on the 2000AD comic Judge Dredd, Dredd takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth.
Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary.

The first image of Karl Urban, best known for playing “Bones” McCoy in Abrams’ Star Trek as Judge Dredd, in the Pete Travis-directed remake/readaptation of the sci-fi comic series (titled simply Dredd) has found its way online. Apparently this is only a test shot, but still gives a good idea of how the character will look in the new movie.

Olivia Thirlby Joins Judge Dredd
Few weeks ago we reported that Karl Urban will be playing Judge Dredd in the upcoming Pete Travis’ movie.
Today, we’re here for a little casting update, because we just learned that lovely Olivia Thirlby will play Judge Cassandra Anderson, who, according to the script, is “a telepathic rookie who shadows Dredd.”
So, we all know that this character didn’t appear in the previous Judge Dredd movie, which, back in 1995, starred Sylvester Stallone.
But, this time, the story will center on a future where “officers of a special police unit are given the sole power of being judge, jury and executioner to whomever they deem to be criminal.”
