‘Clash of the Titans’ Director Boards ‘Now You See Me’
Louis Leterrier has confirmed with The Playlist that he will direct Now You See Me for Summit Entertainment.
Boaz Yakin (Prince of Persia, Remember The Titans) and Ed Ricourt wrote the screenplay while Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Eagle Eye, Star Trek) are producing. Yakin and Bobby Cohen will executive produce.
After gaining an early experience on martial arts based action films like The Transporter and Unleashed, Louis Leterrier walked on top of the water and turned The Incredible Hulk in a moderate hit while his Clash of the Titans remake became a global sensation. Once the film grossed nearly a half billion dollars worldwide, the French filmmaker was informally being considered to follow up with the James Cameron produced Fantastic Voyage remake, which ultimately went to Shawn Levy, but has officially selected Summit Entertainment’s developing crime thriller “Now You See Me.”
Now You See Me involves an FBI squad in a deadly game of cat and mouse on the trail of an amazing team of the world’s greatest illusionists, who do well a series of daring bank heists during their performances and showers the profits on to their audiences while staying one step ahead of the law. They’re like modern day Robin Hoods, except they take from wise people who put their money in banks, and give to rich people who waste their money buying tickets to expensive magic shows.
Kurtzman and Orci to Produce Adaptation of Ender’s Game
Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, the screenwriting/producing duo behind Star Trek and Cowboys and Aliens, are working on the film version of Orson Scott Card’s science fiction novel Ender’s Game.
As you already know from some previous reports, the movie will be directed by X-Men Origins: Wolverine helmer Gavin Hood.
Orci tweeted:
“Ender’s Game! Us (K/O), Oddlot, and Gavin Hood taking his amazing script to the town! Who wants some?”
We’re interested! Odd Lot Entertainment is producing and Gavin Hood came on to direct and rewrite the script, which needed some extensive polishing because Orson Scott Card has said that he wants a “film where the human relationships are absolutely essential an honestpresentation of the story” and won’t let it get made unless that’s the case.
Mark Duplass Joins Welcome To People
And more casting news for today!
Mark Duplass, probably best known for his indie roles in Humpday and Cyrus has joined the cast of the upcoming Alex Kurtzman’s directorial debut titled Welcome to People.
Lucky guy, indeed, because we’ve just learned that he will star as the love interest of Elizabeth Banks.
Elizabeth Banks is not the only interesting name, because the cast also includes Michelle Pfeiffer, Chris Pine and Olivia Wilde.
Elizabeth Banks and Chris Pine in Alex Kurtzman’s Welcome to People
An “intimate” family drama is definitely coming, guys, and Alex Kurtzman is in charge for the whole thing!
Of course, we all expected to hear some aliens are involved in the project, but no, Kurtzman’s first big-screen directing job has nothing to do with green creatures!
At this moment we know that Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks will star in the movie titled Welcome to People, and for more interesting details check the rest of this report.
Directorial debut of Alex Kurtzman, who penned the script with writing/producing partner Roberto Orci and Jody Lambert is set to start shooting in January.
Welcome to People tells the story of “a struggling twentysomething man who, after flying home to L.A. for the funeral of his estranged record-producer father, discovers that the will stipulates that he must deliver $150,000 in cash to a 30-year-old alcoholic sister he never knew existed, and her troubled 12-year-old son.
Steven Spielberg to Produce Welcome to People by Alex Kurtzman
Welcome to People, the script that comes from writers Alex Kurtzman, his writing partner Roberto Orci and documentary maker Jody Lambert is finally moving on to a big screen.
Thanks to guys from DreamWorks, who will give Kurtzman his first big-screen directing job, but thanks to another name as well, Steven Spielberg, who will produce the movie that follows:
“…the story of a struggling twentysomething man who, after flying home to L.A. for the funeral of his estranged record-producer father, discovers that the will stipulates that he must deliver $150,000 in cash to a 30-year-old alcoholic sister he never knew existed, and her troubled 12-year-old son.
Determined to keep the money to solve his own problems, he’s nonetheless fascinated by his unknown kin and makes contact with the two without revealing who he really is…
The title Welcome to People refers to a child anger-management program in which the nephew is enrolled after blowing up his middle school’s pool with a sodium chunk stolen from chemistry class.
Cowboys and Aliens Poster?
Here is probably a fan-made movie poster for the upcoming flick Cowboys and Aliens starring Daniel Craigand Harrison Ford.

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Daniel Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.
