Alfonso Cuaron’s GRAVITY Synopsis
Don’t know about you, but I’m definitely interested in the upcoming Gravity movie.
In case you’re not so familiar with this project, I will just say that it stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

George Clooney Replaces Robert Downey Jr. in Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity
We already had a little chat about the upcoming space thriller Gravity, but today we’re here for a little update.

Actually, it’s a huge update, because all George Clooney fans out there have a reason to be satisfied with a new Alfonso Cuaron‘s decision that goes like this: Clooney is replacing Robert Downey Jr. to star alongside Sandra Bullock in Gravity!
So, now we know – Clooney and Bullock will play two astronauts trying to make it back to Earth following a disaster in space.

So we all know that Angelina Jolie turned down Gravity. We also know that the lead role is currently offered to Natalie Portman.
But what we just found out is that the Oscar-winning actress, Sandra Bullock, is a strong possibility for the lead role in Alfonso Cuaron‘s sci-fi drama if Portman (the first choice of the Mexican director) turns down the offer she was given last week.
According to CinemaBlend “Bullock is waiting in the wings if Natalie Portman decides to pass. She’s who Warner Bros. really wants as the lead in “Gravity”, mostly just because she’s really famous and she’s been the lead in a few $100 million dollar movies.

Finally some word on Alfonso Cuaron‘s sci-fi thriller Gravity, after so many reports where Angelina Jolie denials that she’s part of Cuaron’s 3D project.

Jolie passed not once but twice on the film leaving it without a female lead.
Also, there were rumors ( Joile was just one of the many names) that Scarlett Johannson, Blake Lively, Marion Cotillard, Carey Mulligan, Sienna Miller, Sandra Bullock, Naomi Watts, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde (!) were all possible replacements.
But, now we have Natalie Portman in! Actually, she has been offered the lead role.
Scarlett Johansson Joins Robert Downey Jr. in Gravity
Scarlett Johansson is set to star in the 3D sci-fi film Gravity alongside Robert Downey Jr.
Surprise, or not, it looks that Johansson will be the part of Alfonso Cuaron‘s upcoming (and quite ambitious) project, playing the sole survivor of a failed space mission who tries to make her way back to Earth.
Like we mentioned, Gravity definitely sounds like something huge, so no wonder it’s already being described as “the most ambitious film, technology-wise, since Avatar.” Or, if you prefer, 60% CG feature animation with the balance being hybrid CG and live action elements!
Here’s detailed description of this project: “Starring Robert Downey Junior, the film is a contemporary survival thriller that follows a woman as she attempts to make her way back to earth after a satellite crash sets off a chain reaction of further crashes.
Because it’s set in space, most shots require every element to float in zero-gravity. But then factor in that this is a stylish Cuarón flick, directed with his trademark languid feel, and you begin to realise the full scale of our challenge.
