Paramount and Cirque du Soleil to Partner on CIRQUE DU SOLEIL WORDS AWAY
Paramount Pictures and Cirque du Soleil jointly announced today that the studio has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the Cirque du Soleil 3D feature film entitled “Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away.” Written and directed by Andrew Adamson (“Shrek,” “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”), and executive produced by Academy Award ® winning filmmaker James Cameron, the 3D film event features artistic and acrobatic performances from some of the most elaborate Cirque du Soleil productions. The film was produced by Adamson, Aron Warner, Cirque’s Martin Bolduc and Ed Jones and Cary Granat. Vince Pace oversaw the 3D stereo production aspect of the film.
Andrew Adamson to Direct Mister Pip With House Star Hugh Laurie
Hugh Laurie (House) has been cast in an adaptation of the best-selling New Zealand author Lloyd Jones novel Mr. Pip. Andrew Adamson, Shrek 2 and Chronicles of Narnia, has written the screenplay and will direct and produce the film.
Laurie will play Mr. Watts, the only white man on a foreign island who volunteers to teach school as the natives defend their land from invaders. He reads the students Charles Dickens’ classic novel, Great Expectations, linking especially with a 13-year old girl, Matilda.

The latest news goes like this: Avatar director has just signed up to make a new 3D movie inspired by Cirque du Soleil. Anyone surprised?

“Cirque du Soleil, James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar), and Andrew Adamson (Shrek, Chronicles of Narnia), in association with Reel FX Entertainment, announce today a partnership designed to develop and produce immersive theatrical 3D projects inspired by the unique creative universe of Cirque du Soleil.
Narnia’s Voyage of the Dawn Treader Concept Art
FilmChat got its hands on the DVD for “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian,” hitting stores on December 2nd, which includes the first concept art for “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” as well as two brief animatic shots.
Michael Apted is attached to direct The Voyage of the Dawn Treader with director of the first two Narnia flicks, Andrew Adamson, producing.
