Sony’s Jumping the Broom Announces Cast, Angela Bassett and Paula Patton Co-Stars

Principal photography has begun in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia on the TriStar Pictures’ production of the wedding comedy Jumping The Broom directed by Salim Akil from a screenplay written by Arlene Gibbs and Elizabeth Hunter. The film is slated for theatrical release on May 6, 2011 and distributed by Sony Pictures.

Warner Bros.has revealed the first official logo/promotional art in support of director Martin Campbell‘s upcoming DC Comics adaptation Green Lantern.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Official Green Lantern Plot Synopsis Revealed

Green Lantern Fan Made PosterComicBookMovie got their hands on the official synopsis for Warner Bros.’ upcoming film adaptation of the comic Green Lantern. Martin Campbell-directed big screen adaptation starring Ryan Reynolds, Peter Sarsgaard, Blake Lively and Mark Strong. Green Lantern is scheduled to hit theaters on June 17th, 2011.

Here’s the plot synopsis in its entirety.

‘Bringing the enduringly popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, “Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) in the title role, under the direction of Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”).

Comicbookmovie has gotten their hands on a photo that appears to be from the Madisonville, Louisiana set of Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern and appears to be the spaceship of Abin Sur, the Green Lantern who gives Hal Jordan (played by Ryan Reynolds) his power ring. It looks like it has made a water landing instead of crashing on land as it does in the comics.
