Jolie, is reportedly interested in playing this role:
“The actress has been circling Maleficent since last spring, the postmodern take on Sleeping Beauty, and is still keen on to take the role of the titular villain,” LA Times says.
Both Tim Burton and Angelina Jolie had last spring been rumored to join the project.
Wanted 2: Angelina Jolie Will Be Replaced By New Characters
Yes, we know, when it comes to Wanted 2, the most asked question is – did Angelina Jolie kill it?
So, maybe the best thing that author Mark Millar did, is an interview with MTV, where he confirmed that Universal and director Timur Bekmambetov are planning to move on without Jolie and put together the film anyway with a new character from the comic book in place of Jolie.

“They killed off the most recognizable character, but I thought it was great to do that. It was so ballsy to kill off the one person you didn’t expect to die.”

While Angelina Jolie is currently working very hard in Paris on her new movie The Tourist, press seems to be very ocupied with her new projects.
The main speculation refers to the eventual role in Wanted sequel, but, as the rumors spread out, seems like Gravity is not on her list of priorities too. At least, not for now.
Yeah, we are also wondering, what’s up with all that sequels-euphoria lately? I mean, we all know she died at the end of the first film, right? Or is it going to be some kind of prequel?
We still don’t have an answer for this one, but we know that New York Magazine reported Angelina Jolie will not reprise her role as the highly trained assassin Fox in Wanted 2. Ok, we got that.

Angelina Jolie is a CIA officer who, after being accused of being a Russian sleeper spy, sets out to prove her innocence while trying to elude capture by her superiors.
The film, directed by Phillip Noyce (Catch a Fire)from script by Kurt Wimmer and Brian Helgeland, co-stars Liev Schreiber (Defiance, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) as Winter, her ally and supervisor in the CIA’s Russia office, and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Children of Men, American Gangster) as Peabody, a counterintelligence officer who tries to take her down.
Johnny Depp To Replace Worthington In “The Tourist”
Sam Worthington and director Florian von Donnersmark have left the film “The Tourist,” and there are already some top names in line to replace them.
It was reported that Johnny Depp was in negotiations to replace Worthington, while director Alfonso Cuaron is in talks to replace von Donnersmarck.
Depp was brought into the mix by Graham King, with whom he has a close relationship, most recently collaborating on “The Rum Diary” and the Gore Verbinski-directed animated pic “Rango.”
This isn’t the first time “The Tourist” has seen cast and crew replacements.
