Man On A Ledge Begins Principal Photography
Principal photography has begun in New York City on the Summit Entertainment feature Man On A Ledge.
An ex-cop and now wanted fugitive (Sam Worthington) stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes that he might have an ulterior objective.
Sam Worthington (Avatar) and Elizabeth Banks (The Next Three Days) star among an ensemble cast including Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker), who portrays Worthington’s best friend and ally and Jamie Bell ( Billy Elliot ) who is Worthington’s younger brother and ardent supporter. Also along for the ride is four-time Oscar® nominee, Ed Harris (Pollock) who plays a powerful businessman, while Edward Burns (27 Dresses) is a rival negotiator who tries to swoop in when he believes Banks has a conflict of interest. Newcomer Genesis Rodriguez (Casa di me Padre) plays Bell’s girlfriend who along with Bell, tries to prove Worthington’s innocence.

We previously reported that Julie & Julia star, Amy Adams was rumored to be up for the leading female role, but, as you see, Banks is a lucky winner.

Ok, the movie won’t be called Mission: Impossible, but we have no new title for now.
At this moment we have no idea if the three are competing for the same role, but since the project is in the early development, there are already some rumors that Ethan Hunt aka Tom Cruise’s character would mentor a younger agent, but, as we said, nothing is official yet.

First Look at Hugh Jackman and the Robots in Real Steel
Hugh Jackman’s futuristic film directed by Shawn Levy (Date Night, Night at the Museum) Real Steel has had its first image released via USA Today.
The film co-stars Anthony Mackie, Evangeline Lilly, Dakota Goyo as Jackman’s young son, Hope Davis, James Rebhorn, Kevin Durand and Olga Fonda.
Real Steel is set in the near future (the year 2020), and has Jackman playing a former boxer who, along with his estranged son Max (Goyo), tries to make it in the lucrative world of robot boxing.

Real Steel is a title of an upcoming Shawn Levy’s futuristic sci-fi tale set to hit theaters on November 18th 2011.
So, we know that it’s the story of a father and his estranged 11-year-old son who enter the world of robotic boxing, and that the movie has pretty interesting cast: Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, Kevin Durand, Anthony Mackie and Evangeline Lilly.

The Hurt Locker Review

What a shame that the one movie about the Iraq war that has a chance of being viewed by a large worldwide audience should be so disappointing.
