Paul McCartney in “Shrek 4″
According to thesun.co.uk, Sir Paul McCartney is in talks to write the soundtrack for “Shrek 4” and may also have a small speaking role in the movie.
The former Beatle will join Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas in the fourth movie in the Dreamworks saga, which is due for a 2010 release.
A source said:
“Paul has been discussing the possibility of providing the soundtrack to the next ‘Shrek’ film. His hit “Live and Let Die” was sung in the last movie at Shrek’s father-in-law’s funeral and was one of the funniest moments.
“If he says yes, Paul will compose a batch of original songs for the film and he could even voice a character.”
Paul said:
“I’m a huge fan of ‘Shrek’ as my little girl, who is three, loves it. I can do a really good impression of him - I put on my best Scottish accent!”

Antonio Banderas In New “Dali” Biopic
Antonio Banderas is in final negotiations to play Salvador Dali in a new “Dali” biopic which will be directed by Simon West.
West has been working on the movie, which is being scripted by Jeremy Walters, since 2003.
The director will use a mixture of CGI and music to showcase the creative process of Salvador Dali.
“Dali” will focus on the surrealist artist’s time in America and his relationship with his wife, manager and muse, Gala.
The plan is for this movie to shoot in Spain and England in 2009.
At least two other Salvador Dali biopics are in the works.
Al Pacino is attached to play the artist in “Dali & I: The Surreal Story” directed by Andrew Niccol and
“Twilight’s” Robert Pattinson stars as Dali in the upcoming “Little Ashes,” which chronicles the young life and loves of the painter as well as filmmaker Luis Bunuel and writer Federico Garcia Lorca.
Daniel Day-Lewis in ‘Nine’
After Javier Bardem withdrew from the upcoming screen adaptation of the Broadway show ‘Nine‘, Daniel Day-Lewis will assume the leading role, reports Weekly Variety.

Day-Lewis will play the Italian film director Guido Contini.
Guido is conflicted by his artistic drive, sexual desires and his Catholicism, and Raul Julia, who was Puerto Rican, originated the role for the musical in 1982. Antonio Banderas, starred in a successful 2003 Broadway revival.
For the movie, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench have been widely mentioned to star as two of the many women in Guido’s life, while Marion Cotillard, screen legend Sophia Loren and Penelope Cruz have already been cast.
The movie, scheduled for release next year, is to be directed by Chicago’s Rob Marshall. Harvey Weinstein, whose former studio released the 2002 Chicago and 1989’s My Left Foot, which brought Day-Lewis his first Best Actor Oscar, is producing.
I just hope Day-Lewis won’t regret for this move.
