Al Pacino in Barry Levinson’s The Humbling

By Fiona | Jun 12, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

Al PacinoIt looks that Al Pacino is back for good! And it also looks that the legendary actor and director Barry Levinson are definitely serious when it comes to their future projects.

And no, we’re not only thinking of that mob flick Gotti: Three Generations (that we already wrote so much about), because we’ve just learned that Levinson and Pacino are about to shoot another movie this fall! Believe it or not…

So, we’re actually talking about an adaptation of Phillip Roth’s novel titled The Humbling which centers on a famous retired stage actor in decline who moves to upstate New York with a much younger woman, resulting in his reinvigoration.

Or, if you prefer more details, here’s a synopsis part for The Humbling:

“At 65, Simon Axler, a formerly celebrated stage actor, is undergoing a crisis: he can no longer act, his wife leaves him and, suicidal, he checks himself into a psych ward.

Lindsay Lohan in Gotti: Three Generations or NOT?

By Fiona | May 13, 2011 | Movie News (0) Comment

John A. Gotti and Lindsay LohanLet’s all guess – will Lindsay Lohan star in the upcoming Barry Levinson’s Gotti: Three Generations? I have no idea, and actually – I don’t care as long as Al Pacino is in the whole thing.

But for all Lohan’s fans out there – here’s the thing. Apparently, now when Levinson is on board to direct (and not Nick Cassavetes), Lohan is no longer attached to star as (previously reported) Gotti Jr.’s wife.

Here’s what Levinson revealed:

“I didn’t say definitively…someone said to me about Lindsay Lohan and I said, to be honest with you right now, I’m sort of so busy that I have to go sit down and write the piece, and I know her name has been mentioned in relationship to it but right now my focus is trying to just simply write it as opposed to dealing with the specifics of her and the role.”

But, in an interview with The Wrap, producer of the movie, Marc Fiore, revealed:

“Lindsay Lohan is a talented and beautiful actress, she is in the film and will be playing the role of Kim Gotti.”

Al Pacino

Well, of course I expect to see Al Pacino in Gotti: Three Generations! And I’m happy to hear that he will reunite with director Barry Levinson once again (they previously worked together in You Don’t Know Jack).

Wait, Barry Levinson? Oh, yeah, you already know that previously reported Nick Cassavetes is no longer attached to direct the upcoming biopic. So, what else do I have to share with you? (beside the fact that Travolta’s whole family is attached to star in this project).
