Batman 3 Titled The Dark Knight Rises
Director Christopher Nolan revealed the official title to his highly-anticipated follow-up to the wildly successful The Dark Knight. The third Batman movie in Nolan’s trilogy is officially named The Dark Knight Rises. Even bigger news for some may be that Nolan convinced Warner Bros. to avoid shooting the film in 3D, opting for high-definition and IMAX cameras.
Nolan is refusing to give up more information about the plot or characters involved in the blockbuster – but he has told the Los Angeles Times not to expect one Batman villain. He said that the film’s villain won’t be The Riddler.
Tom Hardy Joins Batman 3
Tom Hardy has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan‘s third Batman for an unspecified role, though many are assuming that he’s set to play one of the Caped Crusader’s notorious rogues.
According to Deadline it’s a leading role but that they’re keeping it secret beyond that.
They also say it’s a reasonable assumption that Hardy would be playing a villain. We can just assume: The Riddler, Killer Croc…well, we’ll see soon.
Christopher Nolan Will Direct Batman 3
It’s official now! Christopher Nolan has come on board to direct Batman 3!
“It’s becoming inevitable, I’ll put it that way,” said Nolan.
“I feel myself falling into it, I guess. And getting it all figured out and I’m pretty excited about what we’re doing so… If I haven’t announced it, I think that people probably all know at this point that I’m doing it.”
That’s exactly what Nolan had to say about the project, although, at this moment there’s still no information whether or not the film will be shot in 3D.
As you already know, Nolan is against the idea, while Warner Bros is openly pushing the whole thing.
Casting also remains uncertain, although Michael Caine has said he expects to be in it, and, like we previously reported, according to his words, “the movie will probably start in May next year”.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Riddler in Batman 3?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, one of the stars of Christopher Nolan’s recently released Inception is listed as “interested” in the role of The Riddler in the upcoming sequel to The Dark Knight, Batman 3.
Call it just another rumor, but that’s exactly what guys from FirstShowing found out from a “reliable inside source”.
So, Mr. Edward Nygma, or The Riddler is “the character that first appeared in Detective Comics in 1948. He is obsessed with riddles, puzzles, and word games.
He delights in forewarning both Batman and the police of his capers by sending them complex clues. With this self-conscious use of a gimmick, the Riddler’s crimes are flamboyant and ostentatious. The character is often depicted as wearing a domino mask either with a green suit and bowler hat, or a green unitard. A black or purple question mark serves as his visual motif.”
Christopher Nolan’s Batman 3 Filming Begins in April 2011

Or, at least, he said that at the London premiere of Inception. Check out the video clip below.
So, Caine, who played Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth in both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight has revealed exactly when filming will start saying:
“I think they’re going to do it in April, that’s about as much as I know.”
Christopher Nolan’s Batman 3 in Summer 2012
Just yesterday we wrote about summer 2012 heat and all that blockbuster mania, and today we are here for a little chat about Warner Bros announcement that sounds like this: they will be releasing the third installment of the Batman franchise from Christopher Nolan on July 20th, 2012, and, of course, the film will be released in 3D. Anyone surprised? Yeah, we thought so…
So, The Dark Knight sequel, which is still untitled, is reportedly in the very early planning stages. The director of the films, Chris Nolan, said that the film will provide closure to the trilogy.
He didn’t want to have just mindless explosions and he also didn’t want to leave room open for expanding the story. The script is currently being written by Nolan’s brother, Jonathan Nolan, and it’s based upon an original story written by Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer. Goyer also co-wrote the two previous films.

He didn’t have anything to say about the involvement of Christian Bale or Christopher Nolan.
