Universal Pictures has unleashed a new international poster from the upcoming film Battleship, which will be unleashed in theaters everywhere on May 18th, 2012.
The board game adaptation stars Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgård, Rihanna and Liam Neeson.

Today we have 14 high resolution photos from the upcoming epic action-adventure Battleship, one of next summer’s biggest blockbusters. Directed and produced by Peter Berg (Hancock), this is a big money teamup between Hasbro and Universal.
Liam Neeson plays the admiral who must fight back against the invaders. His character is also the dad of model Brooklyn Decker’s character and the commanding officer of her boyfriend, played by Taylor Kitsch. (Singer Rihanna plays a naval weapons specialist!)

James Cameron on Sequels
Maybe the right title this time could be – James Cameron shooting again? Because he definitely is (once again)!
In an interview with Spiegel Online, Avatar director said that he feels the only reason sequels exist is because Hollywood is out of ideas and is forced to re-use the same characters and storylines.
“We have a story crisis, now they want to make the ‘Battleship’ game into a film. This is pure desperation.
Everyone in Hollywood knows how important it is that a film is a brand before it hit theaters. If a brand has been around, ‘Harry Potter’ for example, or ‘Spider-Man,’ you are light years ahead.
And there lies the problem. Because unfortunately these franchises are becoming more ridiculous.
Liam Neeson Joins Battleship
Great Liam Neeson is the latest star that signed up for new movie Battleship that will be directed by Peter Berg.
Movie already has quite interesting cast: Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgaard and Rihanna, and now, with Neeson on board, this definitely looks awesome!
Battleship is a story that “takes place across land, sea and air and sees the planet fighting for survival against an alien invader known as The Regents.”
The movie will be told from both sides of the battle – humans and aliens – and it is known that the alien ships will lose their ability to fly once in earth’s atmosphere.
