New Moon Trailer Preview
The first official “New Moon” trailer will air on MTV today at 9 P.M. ET during the MTV Movie Awards. Just to keep fans on their toes, not that they weren’t already, Summit Entertainment has released 15 seconds of the trailer shows lovers Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and gorgeous vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) meeting again, exchanging the words fans never heard them utter before, and then kissing.
MTV promised to air it with a presentation from Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. On the same day at 7:45 P.M. PT (10:45 P.M. ET), the trailer will be making its rounds online via MySpace’s Trailer Park section.
An action-packed, minute-long clip from Twilight showing Edward battling badboy bloodsucker James (Cam Gigandet) made its debut at last year’s awards. It was also the first time Pattinson and Stewart walked a red carpet together in support of the movie.
New Moon Complete Cast List Revealed, Exclusive Clip Online!
Summit Entertainment has announced that “Twilight: New Moon” has officially started production in both Vancouver, BC and Tuscany, Italy.
ET was on the set of the film and has posted an exclusive sneak peek at the first look of the highly anticipated sequel this time directed by “The Golden Compass” helmer Chris Weitz using the script penned by “Twilight” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg.
Teasing what the behind-the-scenes has to offer, the 30-second video shows glimpses from the filming in the sequel’s closed Vancouver set to the on-set interviews with the film’s stars, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
Synopsis: All is not well between demon-magnet Bella and Edward Cullen, her vampire Romeo. An innocent papercut at Edward’s house puts Bella in grave danger when various members of the Cullen family can barely resist their hunger at the smell of blood. The Cullens promptly leave town, afraid of endangering Edward’s beloved, and Bella sinks into an overwhelming depression.
Months later, she finally emerges from her funk to rebuild her life, focusing on her friendship with besotted teen Jacob from the reservation. Bella’s unhealthy enthrallment to Edward leads her into dangerous and self-destructive behavior despite her new friends, and supernatural complications are bound to reappear.

Michael Sheen Joins Cast of New Moon
Michael Sheen has been added to the “New Moon” cast. Sheen has been added to the cast ensemble of the “Twilight” sequel as Aro, the leader of an Italy-based vampire coven known by the name of Volturi.
Discussing the character, director Chris Weitz said:
“Michael’s role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires. Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat.”
Michael Sheen is a BAFTA-nominated actor for his portrayal of British Prime Minister Tony Blair in “The Queen”. Back in 2003, he had a minor role as Lucian in Kate Beckinsale-starring horror-action “Underworld”. Recently, he was seen playing David Frost in Academy Award-nominated “Frost/Nixon”. He will soon be seen portraying football manager Brian Clough in “The Damned United“.
Sheen will join a cast that includes Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Nikki Reed, Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, Tyson Houseman and Jamie Campbell-Bower.
Twilight Sells Over 3million DVDs With Saturday Release
Summit Entertainment announced today that the home entertainment release of the studio’s action-packed, modern day vampire love story “Twilight” sold over 3 million DVD units in its first day of release. The DVD launch commenced this past Saturday morning at midnight with nationwide events during which time Summit and its retail partners provided “Twilight” fans with the chance to celebrate the DVD release of the film. “Twilight at Midnight” allowed participating retailers the opportunity to stay open late as fans lined up in impressive numbers to purchase the DVD of the epic romance at midnight parties.
Thousands of “Twilight” fans across the nation participated in the “Twilight at Midnight” event and some were surprised by filmmaker and cast appearances. 2,500 fans attended in Salt Lake City to see Rachelle Lefevre who plays Victoria; 2,000 showed up in Los Angeles to see Ashley Greene who plays Alice Cullen; over 1,000 fans came out to see director Catherine Hardwicke in Dallas; 700 fans lined up in New York for Edi Gathegi who plays Laurent; and 500 fans in Chicago saw Nikki Reed who plays Rosalie Hale.

With over 3 million DVD units sold, “Twilight” enters the top five best first day DVD releases over the past two years along with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix, and Transformers.

New Moon Movie Synopsis:
Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) are completely in love. Edward is traditional and generous, and no matter how much Bella likes to keep things on the down-low, he wants to celebrate her birthday with his entire family.

“Twilight” Takes Harry Potter’s Release Date

The release calendar is shifting once again, Summit Entertainment’s highly anticipated adaptation of the Stephenie Meyer teen vampire romance novel “Twilight” has moved from its Dec. 12 perch to Nov. 21, the date just vacated by Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”
Explaining about the changes of release date schedule, co-chairman and CEO of Summit Entertainment Rob Friedman stated that the bumping up offers them the chance to present the movie on more screens. He also noted:
“When Warner Bros. decided to move ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ to the summer of 2009, we saw a unique opportunity to slot in our film which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months.”
Friedman added that they were not trying to replace the Potter franchise for this year.
“We by no means are trying to fill the shoes of the incredible Potter franchise for 2008, rather we are just looking to bring the fans of Stephenie Meyer’s incredible book series the film as soon possible from a programming perspective.”
