Will Gluck to Direct Ben Mezrich’s Sex On The Moon

Easy A helmer, Will Gluck, is in talks to direct an adaptation of Ben Mezrich‘s book with quite interesting title Sex On The Moon.

Yeah, that Ben Mezrich, guy whose The Accidental Billionaires was adapted by Aaron Sorkin into a screenplay for The Social Network.

So, no wonder we already learned that producers Scott Rudin, Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and executive producer Kevin Spacey (and I’m sure you already know they all worked on The Social Network) will all return for Sex on the Moon.

So, now when we know that Gluck is in talks with guys from Sony to direct this story, the only thing we’re worried about is his latest project Friends With Benefits which he’s currently working on.

The Social Network Creators to Connect in New Project

Sex on the MoonThe Social Network (honored with four Globes) has become one of the biggest hits of this film season. Now some of the VIP are coming together for a new movie.

Ben Mezrich (21: Bringing Down the House), the writer on whose book (The Accidental Billionaires) the movie is based, is teaming up with “Network” producers for a new film called Sex on the Moon.

Sony, which released both “The Social Network” and “21,” has optioned the rights to Mezrich’s proposal and will join forces on Sex on the Moon with Social Network4 awarded producers Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, Revolutionary Road), Michael De Luca (Brothers, Drive Angry 3D) and Dana Brunetti as well as executive producer Kevin Spacey , to the big screen.

A new international trailer is now online for The Social Network starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake. The film, directed by David Fincher (Fight Club), is loosely based on Ben Mezrich’s non-fiction novel The Accidental Billionaire and focuses on the tumultuous early years of Facebook.

Synopsis:
On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history… but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications. From director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin comes “The Social Network,” a film that proves you don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies.

Columbia Pictures has launched the official website for The Social Network and released 46  new photos from the film.

Based on Ben Mezrich’s book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, The Social Network tells the story of Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg, the founders of Facebook. The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin, and the 162-page first draft has been described as “Unpredictable, Funny, Touching and Sad.”

First Teaser Trailer For The Social Network Arrives

Columbia Pictures has revealed the teaser trailer The Social Network, director David Fincher’s drama about the creation of Facebook. And it really is a teaser.

Though we don’t get to see any images from the film, we do get a bunch of dramatic line readings from Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, as well as several qualifiers about his personality.

The movie is based on Ben Mezrich‘s novel “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal”. It focuses on the drama behind the Harvard dorm room creation of popular social networking site Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg.

The Accidental Billionaires Book Cover

Columbia Pictures is in advanced talks with David Fincher (“Se7en,” “Zodiac,” “Panic Room,” “Fight Club,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button“) to direct “The Social Network” (working title) the movie about the formation of Facebook.

The script written by Aaron Sorkin is based on Ben Mezrich’s upcoming book, “The Accidental Billionaires,” which is set to be released this summer. Mezrich also wrote the book, “Bringing Down the House,” that the recent film “21″ was based on.
