Matt Damon’s “Sexy” Title Fears
Matt Damon is worried he has lost his title as the sexiest man alive – after piling on the pounds for his latest role in “The Informant“.
“The Bourne Ultimatum” star — who was given the honour last year by People magazine — joked the 20 to 30lbs he gained for Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming thriller “The Informant” may disqualify him from the position.
He said:
“I think I lost my (Sexiest Man Alive) title.”
The former heartthrob – who won an Oscar for co-writing ‘Good Will Hunting’ with close friend Ben Affleck – also revealed he really enjoyed piling on the pounds for the role.
He tells People.com:
“It wasn’t necessarily that I needed to be fat. It was that I needed to be doughy. I just stopped working out and basically just ate whatever I wanted. I ate a lot of In-N-Out, a lot of burgers, drank a lot of beer and basically had a great time. When you’re in your 20s you can do that kind of stuff. When you’re in your 30s, it’s a whole different ball game.”
Meanwhile, best friend Ben Affleck tells the website:
“Some things are just self-evident and don’t even require making fun of. I mean, the man buys two seats on an airplane!”
Affleck sharpens ‘Blade’ for big screen
Ben Affleck is reuniting with some of his “Gone Baby Gone” cohorts to bring another gritty crime novel to the big screen.
Miramax has acquired the rights to Marcus Sakey’s debut novel “The Blade Itself” which Affleck will produce with Sean Bailey. They performed the same duties on Miramax’s “Gone Baby Gone,” which Affleck also directed.

The adaptation will be written by Aaron Stockard, who co-wrote “Gone Baby Gone” with Affleck.
“Blade” revolves around two Chicago childhood friends who made their reputation committing petty crimes as kids before choosing different paths in life. When they are reunited years later, one is forced to decide how far he will go to protect the secrets of his past. Esquire magazine named the novel one of the five best of 2007.
Affleck is currently filming “State of Play” for Universal.
